Ponte Physical Therapy

I'm on my second frozen shoulder and actually waited until Ponte PT had an opening so I could see them for treatment on the second one. When my right shoulder froze, the place I went for initial treatment was terrible. I saw a PT once or twice and the rest of the time I saw their assistants. On top of that, I was basically going and doing the same things they had instructed me to do at home and with no guidance. They also didn't explain anything to me. I saw Ponte post shoulder manipulation for the right shoulder and Dave and team worked with me every visit to see to it I had a full recovery. This is why I waited for them when my left shoulder started to freeze. Worth the wait. I've been working with Jen on the pre manipulation PT and will be back post manipulation. Thank you Ponte team for taking great care of me!!

The entire staff is so knowledgeable and caring! They really helped me to get my leg functional again after knee replacement surgery. The office is clean, treatment well coordinated and personnel is THE BEST! Highly recommended.

We're very grateful to Dave, Lori, and their entire staff. They're helpful, kind and very good at what they do. A few members of my family have seen Dave over the years and have received excellent care and great physical therapy.

This place is fine if your injury and their techniques are in alignment. I mentioned my muscular issues around my injured joint and was told, "you have a lot of problems don't you" and they were never addressed or questioned. When the home exercises exacerbated the pain I was told by D. Ponte that "I'm delicate". Maybe he was joking (still super unprofessional) but there was no regard there on how to change it up, just stop doing it but you won't heal. Lastly he was frequently making assessments about my injury that weren't supported by the MRI and he wasn't accepting that when I told him. So pretty much he made his own incorrect assessment and stuck to it. In summary, it's an old school approach to PT with an old school jock attitude. I had a much better and wholistic experience with Hands On Physical Therapy in Arcata, I can actually walk again after working with them.

Being a local small business owner I was expecting to be greeted with more professionalism and courtesy while dealing with the owner Lori. After patiently calling back several days in a row to speak with the scheduler for the office, a disgruntled Lori answered the phone with such attitude and disdain in her tone I could taste it. She told me she had "called my insurance provider two times and each time they put me on hold" I asked for possible alternative solutions that I could explore in order to get the correct treatment that an individual with a knee replacement would require 4 weeks post op. Despite the amazing recommendation I was given about Dave Ponte, It is very unfortunate I couldn't get any assistance to see him. I welcome the opportunity for your team to respond and attempt to make things right.

Two issues with this “business” They discriminate against people who haven’t had all the absolutely pointless Covid booster shots (I got the initial two shots which are useless), and they also can’t figure out how to treat people who have more than one body part that needs care. I don’t think that this place knows right from left and I honestly think I dodged a bullet by being denied medical care from these people for my worker’s compensation injury. I will be filing a complaint with the state licensing board for discriminatory practices and will also spread the word for those that may be in need of PT care. It’s sad that there are still people in this community that are so close-minded.

Always upbeat and positive energy. Gentle warm up before and cool down after. I actually looked forward to my PT appointments for shoulder replacement. Very successful outcome!

Dave, Bert, and Joe were wonderful in guiding me through my total knee rehab. Kind and very knowledgeable, their reassurance and fabulous people skills were so helpful. Thanks very much!
