We absolutely love Playabilities and all of the staff! Our children have received services from all 3 disciplines. They’ve met so many goals and grown so much in their time here. We feel genuinely cared for by the staff, it’s like a second home for us. The staff are patient and very skilled at making all children welcome. Our kids have always felt comfortable and ready to work on their goals. We recommend them to anyone who needs therapy services.

This is a lengthy review, but I hope it helps other families know there's hope even after a long time of struggle. My family lives near Los Angeles, California. Our baby boy was diagnosed with Silent Acid reflux around 2 months old after he started refusing to drink milk from his bottle. After going through 4 different feeding therapists from our state Regional Center and 10 months of trying everything under the sun, my husband and I felt very hopeless. One of my best friends lives in Kansas City and connected me with a friend who went through something similar (but not as drastic). Her friend told me about her amazing feeding therapist (Taylor Hornbaker). Since Taylor could only consult with me (me living in a different state), I met up with her weekly on Zoom and asked her all my questions. She taught me so much and was extremely knowledgeable. She also helped provide a huge sense of calm and assurance that everything will be okay. I could tell immediately that Taylor was different from any of the other 4 therapists who wasted a lot of our time and made our son stagnant with his issues. Taylor eventually recommended we do an intensive at the Star Institute in Colorado. We were so desperate that we were willing to do anything. He was only tolerating some purees (most of the time he would gag if it was too much at once), and surviving on porridge blended with food. We had to feed him using the TV or reading books and singing songs. It was so exhausting and stressful. Going to Star helped us to get in front of the right people (every person we saw in Los Angeles was surprisingly very inefficient, wasted a lot of time during sessions, and never really helped us progress). We learned our son had an oral motor delay and had issues with bolos size and chewing. We also learned about the type of therapy involving SOS certified therapists, and Taylor gave me some recommendations for a good therapist to see regularly near my area. From there we switched our state services to this recommended center, and my son has been there ever since. I can't believe it's been almost a year since I spoke with Taylor, but since this correction in our direction, our son slowly progressed each month and he's now doing so well. We noticed he really took off around 20 months. He's now reduced his feeding therapy from two times a week to once a week. He is going to daycare and eating most of their food. Sometimes he eats well and sometimes he refuses, but we just don't really worry anymore. He just turned 2 years old, and he's talking up a storm with full and clear sentences. He went from 8% in weight to 25%. He still doesn't eat to the level of the kids at his age, but he is progressing and eating enough. We are confident he will catch up soon. He also can chug his water and milk pretty quickly (before it would take us forever to feed an ounce at a time). He loves Asian food, noodles, buns, all kinds of meat, and is willing to try most foods. Things still have to be cut up to pieces but they're getting to be bigger in size (slowly). He is now starting to grab big pieces of chicken and eating bites of it himself until it's gone. Overall, we are so happy and over the last few months, we have started going back to normal, going out more, and traveling. Taylor was such a steppingstone for us when we got stuck. She truly changed our path to the beginning of progress. We feel blessed and honored to have worked with her. Our feeding journey was horrific and depressing, with no hope in sight. She truly saved our family and my son.

Love playabilities. I was referred to them and I have 2 maybe all 3 of my kids going. They are so patient and kind to my boys. I have seen significant progress since they started going and they absolutely love going. They provide great service and techniques to the kids to help show how to handle their challenges but also help provide the parents with great information as well. Julie and Erin are awesome!

Playabilities is the best! They got us in quickly, when other places had months long waiting list. Everyone we have come in to contact with has been so nice. My daughter is always so excited for her visits! She ask everyday if she can come play here and never wants to leave! We have seen improvements right away and we are excited to continue to see her grow.

After trying 2 other local JoCo therapy clinics for Speech and OT services, we found Playabilities and absolutely love it. Sad we didn’t find this clinic sooner. The staff and therapist are knowledgeable, friendly, and are very communicative. Each of the therapists we’ve worked with truly love kids. They work together to ensure your child is safe and continuously working on their goals. The therapist do an excellent job and constantly keep you informed on what they work on with your child. They are a great resource for information to guide your child outside of the clinic as well. What I appreciate most, is knowing how not only the individual therapist working with my child knows my child, but that they build a community for my child to learn and grow in during the sessions. I know my kiddo is in safe hands with any of the staff. Billing and scheduling are easy. I appreciate having educated, friendly, and empathic professionals on my child’s team for her development. Don’t waste time elsewhere, start with Playabilities.

I cannot say enough good things about Playabilites Prairie Village! Our son is currently there for physical therapy and we have seen such great progress during our visits. The therapists and staff are all so nice and sweet with all the kiddos, the interior is clean and set up in a fun and inviting way for kids, and they work with each kid to find the best way to help that individual no matter what. I would never consider going anywhere else!

We love playabilities. The entire staff is so understanding and compassionate. My son loves going to playabilities. I don't even think he realizes he is in therapy. He's excited to go, and loves working for his PT and OT. Talk about an all inclusive place, that puts kids needs first, while also helping the parents feel welcome and give them strategies to continue to help at home without feeling overwhelmed.
