Great place to stay. Authentic decor, really comfortable beds, great shower with good water pressure. Simple, clean rooms, no tvs, but spending time outside stargazing with nice chairs provided was priceless. So easy to catch a band at Pappy & Harriet’s and enjoy the awesome bbq within a very short walk. I will definitely return soon!

Great location and unique setting however the accommodation falls far short on the basics. The disregard for people staying seemed evident when the constant noise of machinery and activity started very very early. Also the rooms have walls that are so thin that the your hear every ablution, shower and tap run - the water system is so noisy it impacted our sleep loads. The coffee in the canteen was also either not on or cold which was a shame. Great location but would advise against staying in you’re a light sleeper or want some desert peacefulness.

If you are considering a trip to Pioneertown, please let this be your home base during your stay! My partner and I visited for the first time this week and had an amazing experience. I don’t usually vacation to places in the middle of the mountains of the desert, so I felt a little uneasy about our safety during the planning of our trip. Upon arrival to the motel, my nerves were quickly calmed when we checked in with Renee. She was so sweet! She connected with us and gave us local recommendations. The room and premises were everything that we were looking for on our desert getaway. Very clean, cabin style, huge bed, wonderful views of the mountains and stars, lots of merch to check out, cute outdoor seating including hammocks for star gazing. It was within walking distance to all the Pioneertown attractions which was very convenient. It was also within easy driving distance to surrounding towns like Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley which all hold their own lists of things to do. The locals and staff working at the motel and other businesses in Pioneertown were so friendly and welcoming. I really recommend staying here if you can in order to get the full experience! We were bummed to leave after our 2-night stay and are already planning our next trip out there. Thank you, Pioneertown Motel, for your hospitality and showing us a wonderful time! - Daisy & Monica

The red cabin is not actually part of the motel, but a separate entity. The host is extremely rude and not helpful. Also not infant friendly as the static electricity is nuts. The motel rooms don't have as much static and the hotel staff actually is available for the motel itself. I really didnt mind the actual motel. But be sure the cabin is reserved via Air b and b and that you are ok with really loud noise from the red room bar next door with annoyingly loud motorcycle noise all day long.

Gorgeous, comfortable, quiet room in a desert garden setting. Choppers parked outside the door in this iconic Old West facade that was the setting of so many Gene Autry, John Wayne, Roy Rogers films in the 40's, 50's, 60's. No television in the rooms is a huge positive, and inspires you to sit outside in the rock garden and lose yourself in the desert night sky.

With Pioneertown Motel perfectly settled above both Yucca Valley & Joshua Tree it's an excellent point of relaxation! Pioneertown itself is a beautiful little area of the desert with great food, drink, live music options with The Red Dog & Pappy + Harriet's being a short walk from your room. If it's your first time in the area employees of P.M. are extremely helpful with suggestions (being locals themselves, they know all the hidden gems). If you spent the day on a long, hard fought hike throughout Joshua Tee they even have a local masseuse, The Pointed Pearl, on call to get you relaxed for the evening (I didn't get a chance to use them on this last trip but defiantly on the next!). Oh! Don't worry, each room has their own AC so if it's a little too much to handle outside you'll have a nook of escape!

This is perfect for what it is- a totally modern and redone little motel in the desert. Front desk service was friendly, room was immaculate, charging ports by the bed, camp chair to sit outside, canteen with free coffee and water, and a 1 minute walk to Pappy and Harriet’s. I’d stay here again and look forward to it.
