8/26/24-I decided to change my rate, because someone from PIH is doing their job and taking the time to read our reviews and make this hospital better. Thank you for looking into this. I am leaving my original review, so people can know what I went through. 8/24/24 “I used to love this hospital and the way the nurses treated you. However, this is my third time that I have experienced this at the ER. I am a patient with Chronic illness and have complications and I have been waiting 3 hours with so much pain. Before this three times this hospital seemed to care for patients with chronic illness, now they seem not to care. The wait continues now in a room. Waiting close to 40 minutes for a doctor. I got of of my room to ask for a nurse, the nurse replies she is my nurse and has been attending critical patients. I felt like a fish without water. My Asthma was really bad. Doctor comes in with nurse, hears my wheezing and right away I get treated. He apologized saying my medical chart was overlooked. How about that. Third time this happens. Really someone has to be in charge of this new changed, because this hospital was not neglecting critical patients like myself.

Horrible experience. We took my 3 year old son into the ER for nursemaids elbow and they billed 5x over market value for the services. We were charged for a level 3 ER visit and a level 2 procedure. My child was merely holding his arm, not crying- and we are charged for a level 3 visit. The procedure was adjusting the nursemaids elbow back into place- which requires someone to slip the little tendon back into place. This can be done at home without a medical professional- still they charged for a level 2 procedure. Absolutely outrageous. We have tried to have the cost adjusted and the hospital would not work with us. They do not offer acceptable payment plans and they are not easy to communicate with. I would not recommend or revisit this ER or hospital.

Earlier this year I had a quadruple bypass. Dr. Tovar and Dr. Nayak saved my life. The pre and post op was fantastic. All the techs..nurses..and staff were professional and gave me all the care I needed. I went in Tuesday and was out Saturday. No complications at all. I've since recovered and feel great. THANK YOU all who participated in my journey!

We recently gave birth to our first child here, and our experience was disappointing. The delivery room was outdated, and my husband had to assist during delivery without gloves or a mask. After just an hour of pushing, we were pressured into agreeing to a C-section or using a vacuum, and I nearly passed out due to poor coaching. The post-birth recovery was just as frustrating. Our room had no working AC, and despite complaining, the staff blamed it on my hormones. We finally got moved to a room with AC, but only after insisting. Night staff was almost nonexistent, and there was little support for basic needs like walking to the bathroom. The charge nurse even argued with us late at night about hospital policies. Meals were low quality and lacked nutritional value, and many parts of the hospital were in disrepair, with outdated equipment and stained ceilings. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional, and the care was lacking.

I had a major surgery on 8/20 and everything was going great till I needed to pee. I had to have a catheter inserted after the surgery but for some reason I didn’t have one. I was in so much pain because of the urine retention. 3 nurses (including the charge nurse) tried to insert a catheter but they couldn’t. My husband kept on telling the nurses that I needed a kid size catheter and they said they didn’t have one. The thing that hurt the most is when the nurses left( because it was time for them to clock out) me and husband in the room without any help. I was in pain. When I used the pain button to call for help, the person on the other end said they were going to get the nurses on the second shift to help me. At that point I was so stressed out and so was my husband. My doctor was fantastic but the nurses on that day were terrible.

The ER admitting nurse was very rude, had not empathy for sick people. Instead of asking what is wrong with me she just told me “how can I help you “ all her questions were very vague and blunt with no caring and no empathy for sick people.

If you are looking for care and compassion for your loved ones I would stay clear of this horror place! My Father, 71 years young, lost his life due to the negligence from the so called staff. The ICU “doctors and nurses” are absolutely traumatizing and definitely not there to ensure your loved one will make it back home. We spent 23 long days in ICU due to a cardiologist from PIH over prescribing a medication which ended up causing severe inflammation to my Fathers lungs. Instead of helping us find ways to help keep him going we walked in DAILY to their famous question, who is the decision maker of the family, your Father isn't looking too good. Im not kidding when I say the Dr asked that every single day!!! My Mother was there with him all day every day until one day she went home a little early to rest. The nurse called to say she had to sedate my Father because he tried to get up on his own and she did that WITHOUT our permission!!! That was it, we never heard his voice again, he never woke up after she did that!! Mind you, he was talking, eating and starting to finally walk again on his own! This place is an absolute nightmare, I pray nobody else ends up in their “care!”

If you are having a baby and don’t have the best insurance, do NOT let them force you to stay there as many days as they want. I repeat, do not let them force you stay if you dont have to. Every night you are there is about $5,000. Nurses generally do a good job, but you are charged every time they walk in. My wife bought a kit to check glucose and had been using it for 6 months. They didnt let her use her own. I winder why?? Oh its because they charged $120 every time they checked LOL. The 40ml bottle you see below was $190. They make it seem like they are “gifting you” 3. They charge for cups or water and ice. This is a huge corporation. Be very careful. If you ask for cost, they wont tell you. No one seems to know but they charge every item. Your baby does NOT need all vaccines they recommend do let them force you to pay $500-$700 for 3 vaccines. Always ask, ASK. It’s a business. Same as a hotel. Empty beds don’t make money.
