I have found pt specialists to be a wonderful experience in my therapy journey. Danielle and Allie are outstanding therapists. Mike is great and Kristen is the best. I have recommended them to friends who have also been very impressed. Their knowledge and experience combined with their compassion makes for an outstanding environment.

Mike is a skillful and effective physical therapist. He is caring, knowledgeable, and dedicated to helping his patients heal. He relieved my pain but also taught me exercises and lifestyle modifications that helped me manage my condition, understand its causes, and stay pain-free. I am incredibly grateful to him. I am able to lead an active life as a result of his work.

Best physical therapy in the area! Mike at Physical Therapy Specialists (PTS) in Old Saybrook is great. I had sciatica with pain in my calf and numb toes for close to a year. Since we spend 6 months in Old Saybrook and 6 months in NYC, I had physical therapy at one place in Old Saybrook (briefly) and two places in NYC (each for 2-3 months). The physical therapists and my progress got better with each round. However, after 11 months my progress had plateaued and I still had painful episodes in my calf and my numb toes never really went away. Because I was making the most progress with my last therapist in NYC, she suggested that she would find a “good therapist” for me around Old Saybrook. She researched local therapists for their philosophy as well as their formal training (Doctor of Physical Therapy and Manual Therapy Certification). She found Physical Therapy Specialists in Old Saybrook. I made an appointment with Mike and I could not be happier. The sessions are a full 30 minutes, and I was his only patient during that time. There was no splitting his attention among 2-3 patients. Mike truly listened to my symptoms, my past programs and progress, and then recommended exercises. He assessed my progress at each session by asking questions on severity of my symptoms, looking at my range of motion as well as my muscle tightness/alignment. He made minor adjustments to the exercise program which drove my continued healing. I initially saw him twice weekly. As the pain in my calf improved, the frequency of visits decreased. The calf pain was almost gone in ~2 months. I still have slight numbness in my toes which will hopefully diminish with time. Mike explained that sometimes numbness may not resolve completely if the nerve has been pinched too long. If only I had found Mike and PTS a year earlier! Out of all the PT’s I saw for my sciatica, Mike was the best. With his help, my healing improved quickly and was sustained. I highly recommend Physical Therapy Specialists. Mike is caring, highly trained and knowledgeable. The space is immaculate, and the front desk staff are professional and responsive. The whole experience was positive.

Both Myself and my wife Kathy have used Michael @ Physical Therapy Specialists since they opened in Old Saybrook CT. His care of us for several issues has been a 10 out of 10. Michael uses individually designed treatment plans not one size fits all treatment of most practices. He is highly trained, professional and caring.

Most helpful physical therapy practice ever! I was originally referred to Physical Therapy Specialist after shoulder surgery and was impressed with the expert care and professionalism of the practice. I worked with Paul, James, and Mike, all excellent. I read in their newsletter that they also offer services to improve mobility and balance. They evaluated my stride and advised the most effective walking footwear. As a result, I walked more! I wanted to build my strength and endurance for a walking inn to inn trip. Mike has been instrumental in helping with exercises which made a significant difference in my enjoyment and stamina during the trip. The practice has enhanced my physical well-being.

Both my wife and I have been going to Physical Therapy Specialists for years! They have made our lives better. I have had three major back surgeries and two minor back surgeries and without my attending sessions here I would be looking at a very serious operation! Paul and Mike run a fantastic service. Because my wife and I live near Old Saybrook we use their office locally, however we would travel to Guilford if necessary! I would recommend this organization to anyone that needs help! You can’t beat their entire staff!

Mike changed my life! I had been a struggling with persistent headaches for almost three months, feeling discouraged and overwhelmed. A doctor finally recommended I go to PT to work my neck into hopefully relieving the headaches. Transparently, I was extremely skeptical, but I was feeling desperate so I gave it a shot — still feeling that it was unlikely this would help given nothing else had to this point. I went and saw Mike, and everything changed. He started off by talking me through the process, essentially promising me that we would know after the first session if this was something that would work for me or not, I appreciated his realness about all of it — never getting my hopes up. After our first session, I felt immediate relief. For the first time in months, I felt like I might eventually return to my normal self. Mike is dedicated and has a unique, intentional approach for each of his patients, guiding them along the way. Beyond helping me directly, Mike also gave me the tools to address my problem even when I wasn’t in his office, I’m so grateful for how he’s shifted my health.
