Physical Therapy Services of Sumter

I have nothing but praise for this facility and its staff. My problems began over ten years ago so I’ve had PT in 4 states and 3 locations in this area. I never post reviews but they truly deserve it. Professionals, knowledgeable, kind, personal attention, curtained treatment cubicles. I’m getting better!

The therapists are great. The problem I've had has been two-fold. First when there is any issues with your referral or insurance, it is up to you to solve those issues. All I ever hear is that I need to call my doctor/insurance. Okay, I'm a Baby Boomer. I do not remember ever having to coordinate my benefits on my own. Then when everything is finally coordinated, they do not have openings. I do not know if they understand that time is of the essence after surgery. If it is going to take me weeks to coordinate my paperwork and then get an appointment, why should I use your services? I can stay home and do my own exercise with $0 copay! I've used this facility previously. The therapists are great. They need to redo their office personnel to be more helpful and increase their staff if they are still planning on taking patients.

Beware! They will hit you with bill months after service. I called multiple times confirming amount owed and make sure pre-authorizing was done. Even expressed other PT’s said I would need to pay the full amount up front and that I didn’t want to be blindsided later on. They said I needed to pay 40$ and I did. Now hit with another 74$ bill months later after my deductible has since been met while preparing for surgery and dealing with ALL the rest out of pocket costs. It’s a stressful time having to go through the events that lead up to needing a physical therapist in the first place. Shouldn’t have added stress by the people that are meant to get you better. Now I will have to arrange to be driven farther out due to their irresponsible billing and will call to file proper complaints. Go elsewhere for proper billing and stress free care. I truly hope they get their billing issues together as some can’t travel farther out and not many PT’s in the area.
