PFC Gym

As of 08/19/2023 the gym is under construction and has a lot of areas that are blocked off including the cable weight section. Once it’s done it seems it will be a great place to get your weight training needs done.

Looks huge outside..not so much though on the inside. Heard the other gyms are closed?? If true, why is this gym so big but limited equipment??? 10 ppl in the weight area and you’re standing around. For a post in this type of environment...do better. Get more equipment. Pull the 100 cycle bikes out and expand. Or..crazy thought...open all gyms. Not impressed on that part but the inside is nice and looks clean. Good about of stuff for cardiovascular activities.

Going through a rough patch, still under construction so locker rooms aren't up and running. Ran out of a quite a bit of supplies a week ago or so. But things should continue to improve.

This is a beautiful gym with state of the art equipment. It’s kept clean and sanitized. I often see the employees cleaning. The check in folks are very friendly. The locker rooms are spacious and have a wet and a dry sauna. The female showers are “open bay” style mostly but there are 2 private showers as well. There is an ice rink and basketball court, racquetball court as well. They offer group fitness classes. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because there is sparse to no cellular internet coverage. So if you want to stream music while you workout or watch a show on the stair stepper, make sure you download before you go. I have AT&T so this may not be an issue with other providers. Also, in the summer, there doesn’t appear to be AC and it gets so hot and muggy it’s almost unbearable. If I could offer some constructive criticism I would say to provide free WIFI (most gyms do) and add some more fans in the summer. Otherwise, it’s a great time.

I like going to the pfc gym, especially early mornings before heading to work. And I really like the ice skating rink.

It's an Army gym. The staff are ok, the equipment is decent and the facility is well maintained. Also, big plus for me and a lot of others; this joint has an ice rink! If the BDE CSM and CO read this, please don't try to shut it down. The rink provides Soldiers who play hockey a great place to play that isn't expensive, has loaner gear and is a cost effective alternative to the leagues and ice in town. A lot of us reenlisted to come to a place that offers hockey (given Alaska and all) and it suits the needs of post admirably. Also, we don't need another basketball court since there's already a big one at the gym.
