I found Matt Gaunt after someone recommended I try dry needling. I must say when I walked into the office I was skeptical. I was also almost broken in spirit. You see I am 55 years old now and have never really suffered an injury. I fought breast cancer a few years back and won....but it changed my body. I find I cant really do the things I was once able to do without even a thought. So with some weird injury which caused my muscles to inflame and become very angry it left me almost unable to go for a walk, sleep comfortably, sit comfortably, stand so on and so on. After my first appointment I was pretty sore, after 2 days I felt great. It was a miracle to me. After my second and third appointment i knew I was well on my way to a full recovery. So I highly recommend him for anyone that is suffering with back pain, hip pain, leg pain, I think he can treat almost anything. But heres the kicker when you walk into his office he has the tools to help you get better and he will tell you what you have to do on your part to help yourself. If you are not willing to do those things. You will feel better but you will never really heal. Give it a try for yourself if you are in pain. What do you have to lose?

Dr Gaunt is a really easy person to talk to and he listens. He has been treating me for a problem with my rotator cuff - he’s been great but I’ve been naughty and not done the regular exercises I should be doing due to travel so I have to say it is my fault that its not yet back to what it should be. I would still recommend Dr Gaunt.

He is great did what we need for my daughter arm and was very flexible with appointment and very understandable Will definitely recommend him

Dr. Gaunt was so helpful with treating my BPPV related dizziness. He took the time to really listen to all of my symptoms and concerns. He conducted a thorough assessment, and decided on the best treatment. He was able to alleviate my positional dizziness and I’m now able to sleep in any position I desire. I have recommended him to several friends.

I am thrilled with the treatment received at Petoskey Physical Therapy. Dr. Gaunt is extremely knowledgeable and thorough in his assessment and subsequent therapy sessions. Pain in my knees and back had limited my range of motion and severely impacted activities of daily living. Through treatment and counseling on exercises I do on my own, the pain is nearly gone, my range of motion is vastly improved and my quality of life is getting better by the day!

I was treated for Vertigo. Matthew speculated it was more and he was correct. Vertigo, Hypo Function, and Cervicogenic Vertigo was his diagnosis. I was given home exercises and was treated in his office with percussion therapy and dry needling. I could not walk when I entered his office for the first time and now I feel great. Matthew explained treatments fully and was very patient with me, especially when I was overwhelmed and frustrated with my debilitating dizziness. I would highly recommend Matthew Guant for any Physical Therapy need.
