We have been waiting in the ER for 2 hours. They have zero communication and out of the five patients in the waiting room 2 of the patients have walked out. Our son has a rare condition and we need medical attention. This is by far the worst treatment we have received in Colorado. If I was an administrator for this hospital I would be embarrassed.

Oh what a day. First off, I just want to say that in some of their defense they were slammed in that ER. However, I feel like they don’t take some patients very seriously and don’t listen to key information. I brought my husband in because he’d hit his head the previous day. While at work he was vomiting and then I practically had to carry him into the ER from the car. The nice female security guard got us a wheel chair and was very accommodating. We waited over an hour for triage and they wouldn’t allow me to go back with my husband to get a clear medical history. He’s got short term memory loss and needs extra help. As I thought he neglected to tell them that he has an RNS in his head. My worry is for intracranial brain bleed because he also takes blood thinners. We were in that ER for 10 hours before getting any answers about his imaging results. By this time I was fuming. We then had 3 different doctors decide to admit him. That took 3 and a half hours to even get a room. My husband also requested medicine for his headache for over 12 hours and apparently the docs that promised to put in orders failed to communicate anything to the admission floor. When we got to his room it took another 2 hours for the poor nurse to even come in and do anything. The general lack of communication and response from many staff members is ridiculous. Last I heard, possible intracranial bleed is pretty serious and should’ve been taken care of WAY before the girl with a hurt ankle or the man pining for fluids. 🤬🤬🤬 definitely not happy.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone working in this hospital. I came in an ambulance here Tuesday morning for a head injury. What a great job everyone did. The staff was very attentive and caring. The female attendant in the ambulance was just wonderful. Couldn't ask for better treatment.. thanks again ☺️🙏

I am 66 years old and woke with back pain in the middle of the night I could not straighten up and walk the pain was so bad. It may have been that I was panicked by this that I was having a hard time catching my breath. I woke my son and had him take me to the emergency room this is where he took me. The first nurse that called me in to do my vitals and ask me questions was asking her questions and I guess I did not answer fast enough because she would get louder and repeat them so I felt like she was yelling them perhaps she thought I could not hear, but it was not a pleasant experience. Even my son said he was going to tell her I was not deaf. By the time I got back to the room I had calmed down a bit so my breathing was better. This is when a person from registration came in and was getting my insurance information. She then proceeded to let me know that this visit to the emergency room was going to be 2000.00. I do have insurance but she said that it would not cover this visit. Mind you I had not seen a doctor yet nor was there a plan made as to what was going to happen while I was there, but already she is telling me this will cost me 2000.00. By this time I am just wanting to go back home but I am still afraid of what may be happening to cause me that much pain. After she leaves the doctor comes in and says they are going to take pictures of my lungs to make sure that nothing is going on there. They did at that point give me some muscle relaxers then took me down for an MRI. When I got back the nurse came in and started an IV ( this puzzled me but I did not say anything ) not more than 20 to 30 min later the Doctor comes back in tells me the pictures look fine and I can go home. They take the IV out ( It was still almost full) and gave me a script for muscle relaxers and sent me home. All and all it was not a pleasant experience and I will not choose to go there again.

Husband went to this ER for cardio issues, as his cardiologist is affiliated with Penrose Main. 2 days later, cardiologist still does not have the ECG records and they still have not been uploaded to patient portal (other tests and bloodwork have been). Husband called hospital, was shuffled around 4 times and eventually got medical records voice mail. No one has called back. Why would it take a hospital 2 days to upload the ECG? You know they are billing insurance in a timely manner. Edit: 2 days, not 2hrs.

I went to Penrose Main; as a referral from my primary doctor. There was plenty of parking; handicap; general even valet. I was not sure where I was going; but the Information center got me going in the right direction. I had to change floors and areas; two different worker asked me if I needed help; I appreciated the willingness of the hospital staff to help. Big Hospitals can be intimidatingly places to visit; I appreciated my visit today. Very nice courtyard and cafeteria.

Sham of a hospital. Care is good, but the billing is insane. I needed serious care that was arranged up front. I got a call and was told I needed to pay them up front or not receive services, so I had to pay my entire deductible plus 20 percent coinsurance. Fine, I can eat that sorta. Well, then they didn't bother to file the claim. So now I am out 1000 bucks and on top of that I owe my deductible *again* to the competent doctors who can bill within a month of service and the other doctors I need to see. Clearly Common Spirit needed a loan from me to pay their CEO 39 million dollars, because who else but patients are gonna buy the non-profit C-Suites new private islands. It's criminal but unfortunately the crooks run the system.

Apparently security (or any staff) doesn't care if a guy walks in wearing sunglasses at night and carrying a stereo blasting music while trying to start up conversation with random people in the waiting room. Very rude staff. Was trying to explain the half dozen problems I was experiencing and they just kept interrupting me because they wanted a simple answer. People who work here need a reality check. Want to constantly control everything. Said they had to keep me overnight and was put on a liquid diet without being able to explain why. Did nothing to help my emergency. Will just say follow up with your primary and a specialist if you need one.
