I felt that the care by staff was too “professional” to the point where it seemed uncomfortable. I can’t really put my finger on it, but it seemed cold. The case manager looked into resources for us, and needed more information. I let her know that my children have locks on their door so they can go in and not have to worry about their brother bothering them. These are keypad locks where parent and child can get in their room, but brother cannot get in. Also, it’s locked from the outside in, so anyone inside and open the door to get out at any time. The case manager was also unhappy that I disagreed with her “medical” advice. She’s not a doctor, and I don’t take medical advice from people who haven’t met us, let alone don’t have a degree in that area. She slandered us to CPS, saying that I lock my children in their room. It’s actually not possible for me to lock them in their room. Anyway, I filed a complaint to Sutter about the case manager. The other reason for the 1 star is because the first appointment was at home via telehealth. They told me it was an all day appointment and it had to be rescheduled for in person. I told them my son’s symptoms and telehealth wouldn’t work. They said we had to try first. Their inflexibility and wasting of our time was unfair. Also, we had an appointment to go over part of the test results 20 days ago. In the My Health Online notes for the appointment, it’s said that the full results would be in a letter on MHO. We have yet to receive it. Calling their office is inefficient. They don’t have a direct line. It goes to a call center, an transferred. Lastly, I didn’t feel like the testing was as thorough as the testing done by other doctors. There was nothing to explain certain behaviors and symptoms my son was experiencing. The other doctor we went to provided a 19 page report gave him two diagnosis, which I felt were more accurate. Dr. Phoong failed to see beyond what was causing some issues and made assumptions that interfered with an accurate diagnosis. Obviously engaged parents know their children really well. The other doctor we went to had great credentials and had a private practice. Not sure if Sutter has red tape or if there are policies that get in the way of quality care, but this particular office has issues. Perhaps they shouldn’t be biased, assume things, and slander. I felt uncomfortable with them from the beginning and my intuition was right.

Nice staff and great facility. Large waiting rooms and lots of space in the waiting area. Lots of things to look at for kids. Of course Some doctors are better than others.
