Dr. Payvandi performed my Distal Bicep repair surgery in July of 2022. I was impressed with my consultation after my initial doctor did not seem to have time for me and his method for incision was much more intrusive. Dr. Payvandi set proper expectations and accelerated my rehabilitation which was a welcome surprise. I have no pain and have regained all of my strength. Can’t ask for more than that. Thank you Sir for getting me all mended up and back to my old self.

Dr. Payvandi does have the personality of an un-flushed toilet, but that’s not my issue with him. I was sent to see him because of a tear in my wrist, which was evident on my MRI (according to the radiologist and first orthopedist). Dr. Payvandi told me that only 20% of people get these tears and so on that basis it didn’t happen (in spite of the fluid, pain and zero rotation). I suffered for 3 more months (10 total) before another surgeon spent 3 hours making my wrist like new. It’s one thing to be conservative about surgery, but it’s another thing to refute medical evidence. I have encountered multiple people who have had or know someone who had a very similar experience. Apparently, this guy has quite a reputation for telling injured people that there is nothing wrong with them.

TERRIBLE AND A very bad dispostion of himself . 1 Star is too generous. DR. Payvzndi had an MRI showing torn tendons. As long as I could wiggle my hand... I was fine. And told me I don't need to wear the hand brace my doctor had me wearing for good reason. Mean rude, and uncaring.

This doctor is a classic case of a doctor who takes on workman comp cases simply to support his failing private practice. He has terrible bedside manner, He's rude, arrogant and does not care about his patients unless their uber rich celebrities for his private practice.... For all the average Joe's and workman comp cases your kinda screwed. Good luck.

I felt compelled to post a review for Dr Payvandi as there are quite a number of negative reviews. I don't even have a google account so I'm using my son's. I was concerned about having Dr Payvandi do my surgery due to all of the negative reviews, but my PCP assured me that he's a good surgeon. Plus, all of the negative reviews are based on his personality, which I wasn't wholly concerned about. Long story short, he operated on my right ulnar nerve. The functionality in my right arm has improved dramatically and I'm so glad that I went ahead with the surgery. Plus, I had very limited pain post surgery and didn't even take one pain killer. in addition, my son recently broke his arm quite severely and Dr Payvandi made a special exception to see my son on a second opinion basis. And as far as his personality, I really didn't experience any of the negative behavior described in the reviews. There may have been one comment in my first apt that was very matter of fact that maybe could have been a bit condescending, but many Drs make similar comments. I personally would highly recommend Dr Payvandi

Sadly did not have the best experience with Dr. Payvandi. He was impersonal and rushed the entire appointment. He said he couldn’t diagnose me which is probably because he was in the room for less than 5 minutes and asked no questions about the pain or activities that cause the pain. He took x-rays, said nothing is wrong with the bones, touched my hand, squeezed it, had me hold a fist and then proceeded to tell me everything was fine. I tried explaining the pain happens during activities and doesn’t hurt by touching it but he didn’t want to hear it. It truly felt he had no interest in figuring out why my hand is hurting. I’ve been to many doctors for sports injuries growing up and I have never had a doctor touch what was hurting and tell me nothing was wrong because a touch didn’t hurt. Simple tasks of pulling out a dish from the dishwasher or even trying to pull my pants up by the belt loop hurts. But, I guess since I can hold a fist and it doesn’t hurt to touch everything is fine. Very disappointed in the lack to investigate because clearly something is wrong. He told me the pain should go away but the pain has been here for almost 2 months which is why I went in. Spent all this money for less than a 5 minute conversation.

Dr. Payvandi had a smiling, pleasant, open demeanor when we met, I being a first-time patient, and succinctly addressed the reasons l was referred to him. He had quickly reviewed my Xray, told me what he had seen, shared his opinion, took measurements of my left hand, and gave me next steps to pursue. I am confident he is highly competent in his field. And my nephew is also a highly qualified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hands, so I hope my opinion counts more than most...lol..
