OSS Health York Orthopaedic Urgent Care

The entire visit was quick and seamless. I was immediately seen, taken for X-rays, viewed and seen by Dr. Bixler and left with a prescription called in and referral to see my physical therapist as well as a doctor at OSS. Once home, contact was made to my PT and referral was made via phone. What a refreshing experience!

Dr. Bixler is great! He did a fantastic job on my leg surgery and was super helpful during the recovery process. A few years down the road, I had a wrist injury that he helped me recover from and was back to work in no time at all.

The receptionists, x-ray tech, and intake nurse were great. The discharge nurse had no compassion and was flat out rude. Dr. Patel dismissed everything I said and all of my diagnoses from my other doctor. I went home in worse pain than I arrived.

I keep hearing that OSS is best in the area and how caring and knowledgeable their people are. If this is what the best of the best looks like, everone needs to raise their standards.... by alot. And Doctors, PAs, staff in gereal....do better. Seriously. Theres zero excuse for lack of compassion, knowledge, care, respect. Used to be doctors were the most empathetic, and kindred people youd meet. They were also some of the hardest headed and passionate If a policy was imposed that made patient care worse theyd buck against it until the patient was kept in mind, not roll over and play dead. Instead these mindless drones blinded with greed is whats been allowed to take over the medical community. They dont have the fortitude to do whats best for the patient in care, in pain relief, in sharing knowledge.

Dr. Elliott had no compassion and acted extremely unprofessional during my visit to OSS. I had two fractures in my right hand. They took X-rays when I first got there, then shortly after Elliott came into the examination room. He we very abrupt and didn’t explain my injuries too me he just said it required surgery and started planning the surgery within the first minute of meeting him. I felt I had no options or any choice in my care plan. I stated that I wanted to look at other options and he then stood up said I cannot help you and went to walk out the room. He refused to reduce or set my fractures without agreeing to his surgery plan. At that point I had enough of his unprofessional and mean behavior and went to WellSpan orthopedics which helped me in the kindest most helpful ways. My family has used OSS for over 20 years with many surgeries and operations done under their care. Because of Dr. River Elliott and his attitude towards us that day, we will no longer be using OSS and will turn people away from their doctors and services.

He is amazing, personable, and my Knee felt perfectly normal when I went out the door to my car., a 100% improvement.

They refused to give me a life saving surgery because I had "symptoms of covid". What? Why would these people be so afraid of a weak virus even though the pandemic ended? Needless to say I got the surgery at another place.

I had a great experience here. The receptionist, Amy was so kind & attentive to me. Almost was distracting me from what was going on with my foot. The medical assistant and doctor were very personable and actually treated me like a person. I was prescribed some medication and it helped tremendously. I was still in terrible pain when I left my appointment but I genuinely felt better after being treated with such kindness. I highly recommend this place if you need these services.
