What a horrible experience. Come to find out I have a herniated disc in my neck. At my initial appointment they prescribed me meds that I later learned would have in no way helped my pain. I left the office with instructions to wait to hear from MRI provider. When five days past and I got no call I phone OAH offices. After a day of waiting for a response I called again. They had never sent in the request to my insurance. They blamed it on everyone else, made me sound like a fool to my insurance company. While waiting another week for an MRI I ended up in the ER, vomiting from the unending pain. They had me comfortable in moments. And sent me home with a plan that helped me immensely. I called the OAH office when I got out and never received a call back. I waited on hold for over two hours the prior day to be hung up on at 4:31, the time their offices close. I went elsewhere and am receiving incredible care. If you want real honest, knowledgeable care go anywhere else. This place couldn’t handle managing livestock, never mind sick people.

Excellent staff!! Especially the younger assistant Mike! He was EXTREMELY patient with my mom. He also showed a tremendous amount of compassion and understanding towards clients. Also Doctor Aronow actually LISTENS to his patients and this is something rare unfortunately in any aspect of health care! The support staff are also friendly and extremely professional. Great facility.

When I first called for an appointment I was given the first available, which was 2 weeks out, despite explaining that my ankle was extremely painful, I was having difficulty walking, and that Dr Aronow had treated me in the past. I asked what they would recommend for ankle support to help me over the 2 weeks prior to being seen by the Dr. I was told someone would call me back; no one ever called. When I went to my appointment I arrived 20 minutes prior, and was kept waiting for 1 and 1/2 hours after my scheduled appointment time. After the first 1/2 hour of waiting I went to the receptionist and asked how backed up they were, and approximately how long it would be before I was seen by the Dr. Her answer was “Don’t know”. After waiting 15 minutes more, I was called back to the window and ask to fill out 8 forms - this was after I had already completed 6+ forms online prior to my appointment. I was told they also need to be completed. I completed them, and was still waiting. When I finally saw Dr Aronow, he examined my ankle. I explained the pain was similar to when I had previously seen him 2 years ago. I asked if I should wear a support sleeve, and his response was “if you think it’s helping”. When I asked if I should wear high top sneakers or boots for support I receive the same answer. That was pretty much same answer to any of my questions regarding care or how to prevent it from happening again. By the time I left I had no clear explanation as to what exactly the injury was or how to prevent it from happening in the future. I was extremely disappointed with my wait, how I was treated by the receptionist, and lack of guidance on handling the injury to my ankle. I would not recommend.

I was beyond impressed with Dr. Esmende. He was kind, thorough and so compassionate. He made me feel heard during a situation that’s been causing me pain and anxiety for almost a year. I feel so grateful my PCP referred me to him.

The staff was helpful and respectful with my check in. Dr. Esmende made me feel like I was the only patient that day even though he had numerous others waiting for his attention. It’s so nice not to feel rushed and to know that he was actually listening to my concerns.

The very best in care! Dr. McDonald and Miriam Wiggins, PA-C were outstanding throughout my ordeal with a car accident. I cannot thank you both enough and all your staff that were also so very supportive, always available to answer questions and all staff going above and beyond in my care! Thank you so much.

Everyone was kind, courteous and AMAZING! I was seen right away and not only did I feel well taken care of, but everyone was so down to earth and happy which makes a huge difference. Everything was explained to me so I could understand fully. They made sure I had everything set up for after care to include post-op appointments pre-scheduled. I definitely recommend Orthopedic Associates of Hartford for any and all Orthopedic needs. Fantastic office and Fantastic people who care.
