Optum-Van Nuys

I would like to just say this place is horrible. My father was a former patient of Dr. Sawyer, but has now retired when Optum took over everything went upside down now his new primary doctor is Dr. Oregel ? He was sent to an urgent care last Friday 10/4/24 in Reseda in pain and fever. They did a Urine sample on him found blood in his urine and directed him to a lab in their building who didn’t take his insurance Drove himself to Labcore in Mission Hills gave another urine sample the next day. I myself retrieved it faxed over the results to Van Nuys OPTUM the following Monday My dad saw a Dr Joey Brett on October 9 was sent to get a CT scan. I retrieved the results myself the next day 10/10/24 fax it immediately to Van Nuys optum which had abnormalities.My Dad and I have left several messages since Thursday 10/10 As of today 10/12/24 No one has returned his calls he is in his 70s has not felt well in a week hasn’t eaten well in a week. This is unacceptable and disgusting.

Once Optum acquired this medical group, the experience has been awful. To make matters worse, my PCP is no longer with them and they didn't inform me that my doctor of 15 years is gone without a trace. I have a medical concern that needs attention but not life threatening but they can't get patients in for 2 months? Really? Stay away from this office otherwise your basic need for antibiotics will turn into a trip to the Emergency Room for something so simple. Edit: Look at the generic responses from Optum. They don't care. Optum will kill the patient experience at your doctor's office. I will not use any doctor's office that is run by this greedy, money grubbing company. They stacked the doctor's office with so many appointments that no doctor can properly give proper care to their patients. Stay away from Optum, they're a greed machine.

Unbelievable I had no choice but to give this place 1 star if I could give it a negative 10 stars I would. We have switched up 4 different Optum offices. And they are all horrible no matter which location we go to. It's Optum this is the issue here. Optum is a horrible, unprofessional, dysfunctional business, that they make it impossible for any patients to even see their actual doctors?! What's going on here is absolutely absurd. I can not believe a business like this is still up and running.? And the doctor that we do see like Dr. Orgel has overprescribed my grandma with medications that got her so sick so is there male practice going on here because I have no other reason to believe that there isn't so far he's avoided to even seeing us which only further confirms my suspicions on malpractice here.

My parents are patients of one of the doctor at optum but the front desk is horrible there is no communication they've called in a prescription and 3 day later no answer she walked in to the office to see if she can get it in person and they made her wait an hour so she went up to the front desk to let them know she still waiting and they told her she needed to be patient she waited some more and they left her there waiting while they all went to lunch. THIS IS NOT OK she is elderly ..

I love my doctor samuel oregel. He's a very fantastic and professional doctor. He's very professional of what he's doing. I recommend him to you to be your primary doctor. Just love optum cause is part of Doctor Samuel Oregel.

Called for my parents appointment and they cancelled their appointment with out calling them prior to the appointment date. And the MA kept hanging up and putting me on pause. Very unprofessional this place is not worth coming at all.

It used to be somewhat better but it's gotten worse. Doctors/nurses don't seem to care about patients. A couple of times I've gone to what I think are routine check-ups, only to be billed more out-of-pocket because I bring up other concerns. Also, if you want to get an appt with a specialist, be prepared to wait a couple of months or longer. And even then, they might not find anything wrong so you are forced to get a 2nd opinion.

If you don’t need an appointment right away this is a decent place. Three months off for appointments and to get blood work done dont bother. Long wait times cause they forget about you. True story. Switching doctors the first. Sad I really like Garrido too.
