Dr. Janet is very well-versed in pelvic health. She explains everything that she is doing and noticing, while offering both manual support and “homework” exercises to assist the progress between sessions. Pelvic health can feel vulnerable and she does a wonderful job in helping you feel comfortable. Thank you Dr. Janet for your continued support as my body heals after having my baby!

Dr. Janet/Optimize Pelvic Health is the most incredible resource for my perinatal clients and students. As a birth doula and perinatal movement specialist, I enthusiastically refer my clients and students to Dr. Janet to help address issues like pelvic pain, prolapse, incontinence and so much more. I love that Dr. Janet takes a holistic approach to pelvic floor wellness and has vast knowledge in variety of treatment modalities. She is extremely passionate about her work and is amazing at educating clients about the what and the why behind treatment plans. I know with confidence that any client I refer to Dr. Janet will be in the most caring and trusting hands. If you need pelvic health support - Dr. Janet is the person you need to see!

Dr. Janet has been fantastic as a PFPT. I had previously seen another PFPT who did not take the same amount of care with my treatment plan and brushed off my pain. After a few visits with really only kegels being prescribed, I opted for a second opinion and found Dr. Janet. In just two months, she helped me get out of the daily pain I thought I'd live with forever, with a full-body approach that I think really made a difference. She is encouraging and helped me stay optimistic that I would eventually return to fitness during my treatment. If you're looking for knowledgeable and supportive care, I highly recommend Dr. Janet and the whole team at Optimize Pelvic Health!

Dr Janet and the entire staff at Optimize Pelvic Health were very kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating throughout my treatment. I had come in for some pelvic floor issues, but I also got great help and advice on other areas like my feet, and lower back. I have now been given a plethora of exercises that I can use if my symptoms return and know how to self manage. The exercise routine and other advice given by Dr. Janet has helped me a lot!

I found myself in terrible pain in my legs/hips while ~5 months pregnant and decided to meet with a pelvic therapist after my OB dismissed my concerns. I'm so glad I found the Optimize Pelvic Health team! Dr. Janet + Jalisa are both incredibly kind, smart and efficient women when it comes to everything regarding my care (scheduling, treatment plan, follow-ups, etc). I've seen Dr. Janet over a half dozen times both pre and post pregnancy for different issues and at every appt my concerns are always fully understood and I have a clear action plan for next steps. More importantly, I always leave the office feeling physically and mentally better than when I came in. To all the first time moms, give yourself the gift of proper care and just book an appt. I will be back for care whenever I have my next baby!

Choosing a pelvic floor therapist can be such a strange, vulnerable experience! I've known Janet for a few years now, and think highly of her skill, approach, and passion for her work. I confident sending perinatal clients her way, knowing they will be cared for with the highest level of emotional support and clinical care.

I saw Jill late third trimester for a pelvic floor assessment and some guidance on labor prep. She was really lovely to work with. She explained everything she was doing, so I always knew what to expect and felt comfortable the entire time.

Where do I begin? My finding Optimize Pelvic Health and the whole team has been a blessing and literal answer to my most heartfelt prayer. We all desire to heal, to believe that our bodies are maleable and adaptable, that we are really stronger than we think. After discovering that I had developed a moderate case of pelvic organ prolapse, I felt I had been cheated by not knowing how to truly take care of my pelvic floor. Before this happened, no emphasis was ever placed on real pelvic floor health when I’d been given advice by a doctor or midwife, other than to throw a few Kegels into my daily routine. When I noticed that I’d developed prolapse, the downward emotional spiral of helplessness, worry, and isolation set in— and doomscrolling answers from “Dr. Google” left me worse off. I continued to feel worse and worse without answers or an action plan that didn’t involve being rushed into surgery. By the way, “Get comfortable being uncomfortable until you’re ready for a hysterectomy” was the very cold advice I was given by an OB-GYN before I found OPH. Of course, I push against the grain of rushing into any surgery, so I never went back to that office. It was nothing short of a miracle that I heard about Optimize Pelvic Health, and I clicked perfectly with my PT and her holistic plan for my healing! I’ve been receiving physical therapy here (a real, personalized treatment plan by a doctor who truly listens and understands!) since July. The commute from Fremont is worth the time and gasoline spent, a hundred times over! The staff at Optimize Pelvic Health is loving, intuitive, positive, and have helped me heal from my symptoms and worry. I’ve actually had improvement in the grade of my prolapse, too (which I’d thought to be near impossible)! If I could tell ‘pre-answers me’ anything, I’d give myself a hug and say that it’s not the end of the world— this is just the beginning of my healing with the right physical therapist. Prolapse can be daunting and disheartening in the beginning, but it doesn’t have to be that way. I ONE THOUSAND PERCENT recommend Dr. Janet Yiu and the entire team at Optimize Pelvic Health to help women (like myself) who are in the darkest places, without answers or results, to rediscover their spark and potential and find healing. I once again have the energy, hope, and “unstoppable” attitude that I thought I’d lost with prolapse, and I feel incredibly grateful and blessed to be where I’ve come.
