Dr. Fox and her assistant were great communicators. Everything was explained thoroughly, and I was given choices for resolving my shoulder issues. I was counseled in what each one could do. I am pleased with the choices I made and the plan for at home exercises.
Had a left knee replacement by Dr. Thomas Paynter of OPA. He did such a great job he is doing my right knee in December. The Physical Therapist, Maria worked with me after the surgery and that whole section helped me and treated me almost like family instead if just another patient.
OPA and Dr Painter are one of the best caregiver teams in Alaska. I am scheduled for a right knee replacement after he has successfully treated my left knee . Amazing team. Their therapy group are also exceptional.
Dr. Moore and P.A. Crawford are fine individuals professionally and personally speaking. After 5-6 years of limping and unable to walk more than a block without excruciating pain, I finally surrendered to the knife and got both knees remanufactured a year apart. I never had surgery a day in my life, but the day of the first surgery, I wasn’t afraid, thanks to the attending pre-op nurse and the anesthesiologist. After surgery I received great care at the hospital for two nights and when going home made sure I had all the proper tools for recovery. Ice chest, walker, crutches, medication for pain, inflammation, blood thinner, everything! And all of my follow up appointments were great. Jeff and Jared always gave me reassurance and great details about recovery no matter what my issues were. And one of my appointments I was shown before and after x-rays of one of my knees detailing the damage and arthritis before the surgery, then the knee being cleaned up and damaged parts replaced with metal prosthesis.
Dr Houghom and PA Johnson prepared me well for surgery. Ihave enjoyed working with PT Dylan after my total knee replacement, and benefitted from his exercise programs both at the clinic and at home. He varied my activities to keep it interesting and he adjusted exercises to give me a well rounded workout to increase my range of motion as well as my strength. I will happily seek this team for my second knee!
Kate was amazing to work with, Always friendly and down to earth. She helped me regain mobility after a decade old injury. 10/10 would return but hopefully I don't have to.
Between an amazing surgeon (Dr. Drury) with fantastic bedside manner and post surgery support, to an amazing professional in physical therapy (Mark Limb, PhD), to the very friendly front office staff I could not be happier with OPA in Eagle River and my experiences (multiple surgeries now) at this office.
