I’m a retired nurse and have had first hand experience in multiple long term care facilities. As far as ND is concerned, it is because of the staff that my family can sleep at night. One or the other of my siblings are there most every day, at different times and what we find is always the same. A caring and compassionate staff who take extraordinary care of our loved one. I’m always amazed that staff from all departments know, and greet my loved one by name and always have a moment to share pleasantries. It was incredibly difficult to make a decision to seek LTC. There were some hiccups upon admission- and adjustments to make. But we did the work and are more than pleased at our decision to entrust ND with our loved ones care. As far as our experience with Marjorie, it has been beyond positive. Her door is literally open and she takes a personal interest in the care and wellbeing of the residents. I’ve seen it. I’m so grateful for her and am confident that she is in the right place as Director of ND. Sister Lucie is tireless and there in a moments time if any resident needs her, day or night. Once again, whenever we visit, it’s not surprising to see her around every corner. Sometimes it makes you wonder if there are multiple sister Lucies! The kitchen staff is friendly and the food is delicious! They work hard to ensure that every resident has the right diet and always have the residents well being at heart. The dietician is sweet, competent and readily available. Security is warm and welcoming. They are friendly and kind to us and to the residents. Austin is the go to guy (social worker) for issues that need to be addressed. His door is also always open Theresa the DON is rarely in her office as she is wandering the halls talking with the staff and the residents. The laundry, housekeeping and facilities departments are very responsive. They have quick turnaround in the laundry, keep ND impeccably clean, and are a phonecall away if something needs to be fixed, hung or assembled. Dr McDermott a Godsend. He is empathetic to both the residents and the families. And every now and then he brings his clarinet to play to a receptive and appreciative audience. I bring my dog. 🐶 Suffice it to say that no facility is perfect. But this is as close as I’ve seen. And that’s why we can sleep at night.

If I could do zero stars I would. My mom was there for a few weeks. Insurance denied her a longer stay which I completely understood. What I didn’t understand was the day my mom was to go home, she had a fever, pain, shivering and totally not able to help herself out of the wheelchair, when I asked the director Marjorie Simpson, to call an ambulance. She refused. Not only did she refuse but she told me it was not an emergency and that mom could wait until she gets home to call an ambulance. I took it upon my self to call 911 and turned out she had gull-stones and a high fever. Not to mention my mom stated she was throwing up and the rude & unprofessional Marjorie Simpson herself said my mom lied and she did not throw up. Never have I experienced anything like this. So after my mom had surgery and everything under control she was sent back to ANOTHER facility because she WAS NOT READY TO GO HOME!!! I would definitely recommend No ONE to this facility unless you truly don’t love your family member. That director is horrible. All I asked was that she call the ambulance and she refused. I didn’t get to the part where she said “ we can keep her but she can’t stay for free” all she was concerned about was making money rather than getting my mom the help she needed at the moment. Marjorie should not be working if she treats her patients that way. I will be handling this for sure

A huge thank you to all of the staff at Notre Dame. After my father passed away, my mother declined quickly and we knew she would be unable to live alone. Notre Dame has been incredible to my mother and my family; this has been a hard stage of life, but the team here has made it easier.

Six months ago I left a review and today I received a call from Marjorie threatening to take me to court for slandering her name. I also called to speak with sister Lucy and she hung up in my face and said she will not give me her bosses number. This is the type of people you will be dealing with. Keep your family safe and away from this facility. Imagine what else they try to hide

This is America, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But I can not agree with the former review. Notre Dame is incredible. The staff is caring and the leadership is strong. My wife put her father in the facility when he could no longer take care of himself. He was very happy with the food, all the activities and the staff. He said everyone was very friendly and professional. The place is not new, but it is sparkling clean, good sign of attentive leadership. When it is my turn, I hope my kids put me in a place like this.

PLEASE do not send your loved one here. In March of 2016 my grandmother passed away while my grandfather was here recovering from a stroke. He wasn't able to speak and was confined to a wheelchair at the time. Everyone seemed so lovely and caring when we came to take him to my grandmothers funeral. I remember an orderly grabbing his hand as we wheeled him out. Flash forward to January this year, my grandfather, who has regained his ability to speak, out of the blue told my father that an orderly there came into his room in the middle of the night, SLAPPED HIM IN THE FACE; and told him "I'm not your slave". What provoked this I don't know. My grandfather couldn't walk, talk or do anything himself. We sent him there at the worst time of our lives as well as his and are COMPLETELY disheartened to learn about this. Please do not send your loved ones here

Very caring staff, very attentive doctors and PT staff. Given bi-weekly updates on progress and excellent feedback and communication. We’ve been challenged during pandemic with restrictions on visitation, but it’s understandable in order to keep every safe and healthy.
