Not Only Words Therapy

We have been with Not Only Words Therapy for a few years now and we love it! Our son's therapist Shannon Strabela is amazing! She has taught our son so many communication skills and our son has a great repoire with her (which doesn't happen with many of his therapists). You can see how much he is grown since working with her, she is so patient, sweet, kind, loving, and very understanding when he has a bad day but still gets him to communicate appropriately. I would highly recommend this company and Shannon to anyone!

Our two teen sons with autism have been seeing Shannon Strabala for speech therapy for approximately 5 years.  In addition to helping them make significant and lasting improvements in their expressive and receptive communication skills, she has helped them learn to navigate through different types of social situations and build confidence. Our sons always look forward to meeting with her and are motivated during the sessions, as she makes the sessions fun and engaging and shows that she cares for the boys on a personal level. Shannon has seamlessly adapted her methods of working with them as they have grown and matured over the years, ensuring that her approach and the skills she is targeting meet their unique needs at any given moment.  Shannon has been a consistent positive influence in their lives and we are incredibly grateful for the wonderful ways that our sons have benefited from working with her.

We have been using Not Only Words Therapy for 3 years. Our therapist, Gabrielle, is incredible. I adore her and how well she works with my son. She is regularly going above and beyond to make sure he meets his speech goals in ways that work for him. She is accommodating to both the child/learner's needs as well as the parents. I recommend Gabrielle to anyone who needs speech therapy.

Shannon is a wonderful therapist and wonderful person! She treats my son with kindness and respect and he adores her. She has helped him Leaps and Bounds with his speech and comprehension. She pays attention to what he's good at and tweaks the sessions to work on his needs. I am grateful we were referred to not only wearing and that we got Shannon!

Our family is fortunate to have Destiny as our son’s speech therapist from Not Only Words. She is patient, sweet and kind to our son. It takes a special person to work with non-verbal kids and Destiny does a great job helping our son learn to use his words/voice. She brings fun games to interact with our son and quickly picked up on his learning style. Super dependable! Superstar!

We have Ms. Shannon as our son's speech therapist. She is hands down the best that we have had. She's so loving and caring to our son. She turns speech into a playful game and is always patient with him. She always remembers what our son loves and plays a learning game that is that theme. Right now my son is obsessed with monsters and spiderman. I have no idea how she does it, but she is truly gifted. Another thing that we love about her is that if our son has had too much then she will reward him a 5 min break. That break gives our son enough time to calm down and get him back into the zone. She is also very accommodating with everything. She listens to what your child needs, she will be very mindful of your schedule, she will do in person or zoom meeting, and she's great on catch up sessions. Our son has met a lot of goals because of her and her devotion. We are blessed to have her.

Gabrielle is amazing. This sums it up... my son did not speak, and since Gabrielle has been working with him, he now has full sentences. She helped him sign when he was non verbal, and found ways to keep him engaged and want to learn with her. She's a patient instructor and innovative teacher. She uses her resources to find what the student will work for. She's great and is also flexible with our schedule when we need it

Gabrielle is amazing! We are so fortunate to have her as speech therapist for my daughter.We love Gabrielle’s passion for work, her kindness and her professionalism .She keeps sessions fun and my daughter has been able to engage well in the sessions.I can definitely say that Gabrielle is THE BEST!
