Nexus is such a great place to go, loved their building and the staff if so caring and attentive to all the children here. My daughter has shown so much improvement since being admitted here. Thank you for all your help nexus. The building is beautiful and has a pretty yard.

Nexus is an incredible treatment facility! I had the amazing opportunity to tour the place, and I was immediately struck by the genuine care each staff member has for the adolescents and families they serve. The facility itself is absolutely stunning and impeccably clean! The clinical team really knows their stuff and has created an environment where everything flows seamlessly. I even had the chance to meet the CEO, and her passion for this work is truly inspiring! She exudes organization and has a clear vision for nurturing both the staff and the clients. I’m beyond excited that Nexus has such a dedicated leader at the helm, ensuring a solid foundation for growth and healing. This place is going and already is to making a real difference, and I can’t wait to see more of the amazing things they will accomplish! 🎉

Although we were very hopeful since they would take someone with medical AND mental health issues, it did not work out for my daughter. In the one week she was there, she experienced some very frustrating and upsetting things. Her meds were not managed correctly, and they arbitrarily decided pretty immediately not to give her 2 of her behavioral meds w/out notifying us or getting our consent, and they forgot to give her the antibiotic she was on. They claimed they offer alternative food if a child doesn't like what's on the limited menu, but she was denied several times when she asked. Personal space is not respected there, and some of the things the staff said to her or other patients were appalling given the fragile nature of the kids in the first place. The icing on the cake was that a state investigator interviewed my daughter who was under 18, started recording her w/out telling her until minutes into the interview and didn't tell her why she was being interviewed. My daughter asked investigator if her parents knew about this-"no", and she asked him to alert her parents. Investigator called me ~3 hrs later and told me he was following up on some procedures that were to be improved after a report several months ago. Director of Nexus told me a completely different reason for the investigation and indicated it was not a standard practice to contact family before or after an investigator interviews a patient, but assured me they address in group therapy (they didn't). Meanwhile my daughter never knew the reason, and the Nexus staff never spoke of it with her (fine, it's an investigation, but provide emotional support given she was quite scared, rattled, worried, thought she did something wrong, and she's already fragile in the first place!). I addressed all of these concerns with the case manager and director, and summarized it all in an email to director in mid-June. I've received no response. Thank goodness she is good at advocating for herself, and alerted us along the way of the operations here.
