I’ve been to a few rehabs. Nothing like this one!! I stayed on the “Pavilion,” which is for short term rehab. Rick was my primary nurse, and those that worked with him were a great group of people!! That’s not to say the rest of the staff in the entire building didn’t do the same. I’ve met so many great nurses and staff, who all jumped in to lend a helping hand when needed, whether it was their job or not; from the, Kitchen, to Physical Therapy, OT and the Business Offices. No door was ever shut to the patient’s. It was a home away from home, I didn’t want to leave. I took a few pictures for my own keepsake. If you have a love ❤️ one that may need short term or even long term care, consider New London Rehab and Care Of Waterford.

This facility is an amazing place with great staff to suit it!! The whole time I was there for about 5 weeks, the staff treated me very well and we’re all very polite. My physical therapist Jose was a great motivator who made me look forward to working out each day and my nurse Rick has a warm and kindred spirit. They are the type of staff members that make you laugh and smile everyday and forget the pain if even just for a little bit. The facility is very clean and well kept and all of the housekeepers do their job as if they enjoy it. The food is decent and the beds are comfortable. Also, visitation times are good from 8 AM - 8 PM and they even let your loved ones check you out for a little while. If I ever had to go through another medical stay, I would choose this place again!

Physical therapy here is top notch ! Don’t hesitate if PT is what you need…My now 97 year old mom has been in twice in 8 years for weakness, unable to walk . Jose with his professional, knowledgeable, caring ,positive motivation worked her until she was up and able to go home.He tells his patients constantly “ you can do it” which mom now tells herself all the time.. Forever thankful to Jose, Fia and Jane .The facility is clean, well run and staff all friendly and patient.

My stay at NL Rehab has been about 6+ was, during which time I’ve making fairly decent progress against my goals after long period of hospitalization. Both PT support by Jose and Megan have been excellent, as has OT support by Megan. Each has bent over backwards to address my disabilities and quadraplegia. Overall quality of this teamwork has far surpassed quality of support by staff at other NL County rehab centers with which I’m experienced,I.e., BrideBrook, Bayview, Beechwood, Apple. I’ve spent most time so far with Jose, and cite his quality of hands-on care and technical knowledge as outstanding. For nursing care excellence I cite both Samanthas and Debbie, as well as Supervisors Cheryl & Marta. Oscar seems to provide very responsive maintenance support. Food quality is variable, from medium to low.Particular problem areas range from low quality/ decaying fresh vegetables and fruits, to seriously overcooked/ dried out meats and fish. As former restaurant owner, such practices generally relate to untrained procurement people, possible unsafe food storage, untrained/poorly monitored cooks. More emphasis on procurement quality, food storage, food prep are needed. Lastly, juices and beverages are obviously diluted excessively, making products served unpalatable. This an egregious practice that facility management should explicitly prohibit.

I have been working in this facility for 5 years and it has been a great experience. The staff here is very caring and very competent, creating a wonderful atmosphere for the patients and residents.

Only a couple people/ nurses cared- the rooms are clean but have to share with people that are in more danger/pain than me. Two tvs per room and every time my roommate changed his channel it also changed mine, I constantly had to keep my remote in my hand to counter act his constant changes- they will not keep the door closed and I constantly have to get out of bed to close the door. I am lucky to have gotten 3 hours sleep per night. I was told 5 days ago that I can be released, yet I’m still here. As a home improvement contractor, I can tell you that the building is in poor shape and the head nurse said that he wanted to show me the faults I have not seen. They constantly bring in new people who have no idea of individual issues. I highly recommend you look somewhere else if you can. Dennis
