My adult son is located in Carbondale IL. He's born an raised in Kansas. His estranged was given All power over him and became his guardian, in our state it's legal. I haven't heard from him in over 9 months. The facility hollers at me an hangs up. There is a restraining order on me for her. NOT AGAINST ME AN MY SON. They won't listen. He's been allowed one, supervised phone call with his adult siblings an he stated to both that he was Hungry, didn't know what he did wrong an doesn't understand why he is even there. I seem to be the ONLY one worried about his best interest. His guardian didn't even move to Illinois with his small children to be close an help him with his memory an to have someone he loves to help him every day get through his struggles an accomplishments. This is the worst facility I've ever heard of. Won't even allow his own Mom or Siblings to contact an stay in his life. Shame on them.... These photos I took. No one is even living in the building

My son has been in Carbondale for a couple years or so now bc he needs help I know we can’t provide. He has his days. They all seen what my hubby and I seen and now they are sending him home saying “they can’t handle him no more”. Aren’t they a place to help people and know what to do?? Apparently not! Also yes, they are kicking him out as of tomorrow (Sept 22, this year). I also figured out why. It isn’t bc they can’t handle him. It is about he has a court summons bc THEY can’t keep an eye on him. He was under their supervision and we have told EVERYONE to NOT let him out of their sight! So now he has court. Well, the summons was made Aug 20th and they got them a day or two after. I was called 30 days before they kick him out. Yea, they don’t want to take responsibility for their failure!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!! I heard this place was good but that is a laugh! They need to be SHUT DOWN!!

Growing in the program is beyond helpful and appreciative. Studding on PAITIENCE is very important! staying positive and gaining the time to achieve what your their for. everything takes time getting the help you need is more power to what you reserve. STAY POSATIVE, STAY TRUE TO YOURSEF AND TRUST THE PAITIENCE. promising you get a lot farther when you accept what you get. I thank this program so much the people I meet. thank you for being wear I'm going. again everything takes time. <3 XOXO.

My sister in her most vulnerable state was violated by a worker there. She was recovering from a brain injury and was too scared to speak up. Her family was states away making her more vulnerable to predatory behavior.

if i could give this place zero stars i would in a heartbeat. im going to start this off by saying the company is based out of new york. they have multiple places and are in it for the money. they make 900 a day on each kid. in the carbondale one they have at least 5 houses with 8 kids per house on one property with multipule properties. they do not do anything to help kids with any kind of pain not even otc medication. they will not hold to a treatment agreement which i find to be ridiculous. they will sit there and say all these things at the original intake but then will turn around and go against everything said. they do not let family come see their kids. they have completely kept quiet and sent kids to other locations without parents being given notice of where they will be moved to. they will release paperwork to one parent but not the other even with paperwork stating that the other parent is allowed to have the paperwork. the residential staff will sit there and say one thing to the parents face and then treat the kids with absolute disrespect. they are not professional at all. they overmedicate the kids and zombify them to where the kids dont look like themselves and dont recognize their own family. the kids do not get outside interaction with the community which is wrong because humans need some sort of interaction with others. they do not prepare kids to get ready to live in the community so they can live successfully as adults. they will give the people who are hired on answers to a test so that anybody will get the job. they dont care about the kind of people that are working there. they had one guy who was working there who stomped on a kids chest. my friend who has a kid who goes there has been refused multiple times to see their kid and feels pissed off about the fact that she has been refused to see hers. she also has seen her kid get thrown to the ground. . some familys havent heard from there kids in months and have been told that their kids are hungry and are being starved. my friend has reached out to other families who have said the same thing about this place. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM AND ARE ONLY IN IT FOR THE MONEY!!! DO NOT SEND YOUR KID OR KIDS HERE!!!

Bria is a terrific talk about a terrific case manager. It’s like things just come naturally to her. These poor reviews must have come before her. She helped me to change my life!

My brother was involved in an accident in 1982 resulting in a Traumatic Brain Injury. We have had him in several different facilities before coming to neurorestorative. He has been here since 1996 and we believe they have provided the best atmosphere of any for him. Of course its a money making place, they wouldn't be in business if it wasn't. We've been across the United States looking at facilities and haven't found any better.

The staff is very non-responsive. My uncle is a resident and I have been unable to get a call back from his case manager or even a general staff member to provide an update on visitor policy. I have been unable to see my uncle in over a year because Neuro Restorative is apparently the only establishment in the continental US that just remains closed to visitors indefinitely. My uncle is terminally ill and every day he spends in this prison is one less day he can spend with his friends and family. I highly recommend you avoid placing a loved one in any of their facilities. It is clear that they value money and what is most convenient for them over what is best for their residents.
