I found myself in a bad place due to hiking and surfing injuries and needed someone who truly understood physically fit people and, most importantly, someone who could help me get back with my activities soon. One of my peers recommended Dr. Amanda DeRosa at Movement Rx so I decided to meet with her. After my first visit, I knew that if there was someone who could help me heal, it would be her. Her style of caring was exactly what I needed – friendly but firm. She asked the right questions and became informed on my injuries and my physical goals. I have met with her five times and I am very happy with the results - she always has a plan to continue improving; I have no intentions on stopping this type of therapy even if I am healed. I can achieve my physical goals faster with their support. Thank you Amanda and best of luck! Dr. J.

I was privileged to meet Theresa after a CrossFit shoulder injury several years ago. Movement Rx, at that time, was just a "1-woman PT show" on wheels! I followed her to any location after being told by my Ortho doc that surgery was the only fix and Theresa said No, it isn't! Armed with bands, belts, weights and strategic exercises custom designed for me at each PT session, shoulder movement became freer, stronger and less painful. Today, my shoulders are fully mobile, and pain-free due to Theresa's care and "coaching". Over the years since then, I have seen other Movement Rx staff members for various mobility issues and have appreciated the quality and results as well. And one last thing I'd like to add is the Movement Rx news/updates sent out are a hoot! Great info written with superb humor! So, sign me grateful indeed.

I've seen Dr. Amanda a few times for different issues over the past year and she is always awesome! She starts with a movement assessment and listens carefully to what's bothering me. She's very knowledgeable and I love how she explains in detail everything she's doing and why. She's used a combination of techniques on me - ASTYM, cupping, hands-on manipulation/massage - and also takes me through stretches and body or weighted exercises. I always leave feeling great and with a specific care plan online so I can continue the PT at home between visits. I would highly recommend working with her and Movement Rx!!

I've been seeing the therapists at Movement Rx for the last 7 years and I could not speak more highly of them! Between helping me manage hip imbalances to teaching me how to move from core to extremity, Movement Rx has been integral in my journey as a Crossfit athlete. In the last two years I've committed to seeing how far I can go as a Masters Crossfitter, and with that came a much higher volume of training combined with more technical movements/gymnastics and heavier weights. Dr. Theresa has helped me build a strong, durable body as well as helping me manage things before they become issues/injuries. She holds me accountable and has taught me personal responsibility when it comes to doing my prescribed PT on a daily basis. She is a massive part of where I landed in this years Open and how I continue to evolve as an athlete. I could not recommend a better place to go to learn how to address and permanently fix faulty movement patters, recover from injuries, and build a system of prevention that allows you to move well for a long long time!

Honestly, I don’t know how to really feel about my appointment there. I went in for chronic back pain that started when I was in the Military and pretty much got a nagging lecture on how I stress too much (I have an anxiety disorder), and I don’t have great self-care habits. (I understand they are important, but I don’t need a lecture). Then when it was time to do range of movement stretches. She laughed at me and asked, “that’s it?” In a judging manner. I know I’m not what I used to be 5-6 years ago, but it made me feel VERY insecure about myself, along with the shame that my back pain was basically my fault. I went home with 2 exercises and 1 modified exercise because she feels like that’s all I can handle in life right now—very unprofessional experience. I told my husband who is a PT tech and he said that her comments, lecture and laughing was very uncalled for and a waste of time. So i will be trying to change my referral elsewhere. Because I know I will no longer feel comfortable here.

I would highly recommend working with Movement Rx. The Physical therapists are experienced, knowledgeable and provide exceptional patient care. I recently saw Dr Amanda and as a shift worker I especially value her understanding of my line of work and ability to give me exercises that are attainable to do within my shift. Scheduling is a breeze and I like the patient portal that gives me one place to go for tutorials and descriptions of 'homework' to be done. Thanks Movement Rx!

I recently completed one of the online programs from Movement Rx and was grateful for the pain relief in my lower back. The pain in my lower back and left knee have been intense and continuous. In my opinion Movement Rx hits the problem from all side. I learned new ways of moving and exercising that drastically decreased my pain. The coolest part of the whole program is that its web based and you can access your daily program from your phone or computer. I was able to complete so many of the drills in my living room first thing in the morning. Thank you Movement Rx!

Theresa was very knowledgable and thorough. Was able to quickly and efficiently talk me through the different mobility tests and quickly followed up with a detailed observation and analysis report. Was able to talk to me in easy to understand terms instead of fancy medical terms. She is a very good listener and can describe in detail the importance of the different tests and why it's important. Looking forward to trying out the exercises and tracking my progress.
