Could not be more pleased with the excellent service provided by not only Dr. Varela but the entire staff at his clinic. This top level of care continued with the surgery staff at the Stone County Medical Center. I would recommend these health care professionals to anyone. Very caring, very efficient, and as good as they come. North Arkansas health care as good as it gets!

My first two visits were fine except I was never given anything for the pain of a triple ligament sprain. It's been 6 weeks and it is still swelling up and hurting so I made another appointment. I was told to come in on Wednesday morning at 10:30, when I got there I was told I made a mistake and my appointment wasn't until the following Monday. I can not take off work on a Monday so there is no way I would have agreed to that. When I was told my appointment I was at work and on the speaker phone, I even repeated the time and day and it was confirmed. The Nurse asked why I was there and I said I had been having swelling and pain and was worried about a possible blood clot. I told her there had been a major discrepancy from what the hospital said and what the doctor had said. She got angry with me and told me that the doctor stares at x rays all day in a dark room and he knows what he is talking about. She then left the room and I waited for over an hour to see the doctor, who never showed up. I watched one doctor leave for lunch and I decided I should just leave. In all they were rude and not helpful, making a patient suffer through pain for 6 weeks seems unprofessional and rude. You would be best to seek help elsewhere.

Outstanding care and kindness. A wonderful experience. We have had two items needing surgery and the results have been amazing. I highly recommend them.

Put Simvisk 1 injection in my knee last fall. It’s been good so I got another this week. Diagnosed trigger finger and set me up for surgery next week.

Excellent service,great staff, everyone kept me informed of all procedure along the way. Came in with problem and they got me in fast for surgery to solve my discomfort. Would recommend them to anyone.

Staff and assistants are always professional and courteous. Dr Akins has successfully performed surgery on both of my knees. I highly recommend.

Arrived early, got in before my appointment. Everything was checked professionally and courteously. My husband has had 4 procedures, all worked well so when I need my knee procedure this is where I'll go.
