Monrovia Post Acute

My father passed away after leaving this facility. We tried to get a hold of the Doctor for 2 days with no call backs. They claimed he called, he did not. We were glued to the phone waitingto hear back. On day 3 I drove an hour to get there and saw my father in horrible condition. He fell septic again yet they claimed the doctor had been checking on him daily. He had not attended physical therapy in a few days while being there because he didn't we feel well, we didn't find this out until AFTER. Why wasn't his family notified he wasn't attending therapy? The ambulance took him to the hospital where he had severe kidney failure and was septic. How does it get that bad under someone's care!? Nurses were friendly and helpful the Doctor was not.

My daughter’s health has improved in the 2 months she’s been here. The nurses and staff are very giving and caring. They give me phone updates when I’m unable to visit. God Bless This Place and the workers and Doctors.

I am incredibly Thankful for Nurse Ass Veronica Rojas for going above and beyond in my stay at Monrovia she checked up on me frequently makinh sure i was comfortable and always listened to my needs.

My 87 year old father broke his hip and after surgery needed skilled nursing to get him mobile again. I was a bit apprehensive about admitting him to this facility. We did not have many options and we had to do something. It was important that my dad regain the function of his legs. When we first got to the facility my wife and I introduced ourselves to ALL of the staff. We were very friendly and the staff returned the courtesy. The facility definitely is not a luxury resort. However, the most important thing to us was that my father be able to walk again and be as independent as possible given his age. The physical therapy and occupational therapy did a great job. My dad was able to come home after just 10 days in the facility. The nurses, social workers, admittance officers, receptionists, and recreational director were all wonderful. I can't thank them enough. Monrovia Post Acute is a solid skilled nursing facility. We had a very positive experience there.

My experience as a patient was 5 stars with CNA Veronica Rojas who took very good care of me and recovered fast with excellent service.

Administration, Specifically Social Services is HORIBLE. This woman is never available to help & never returns calls. Once it was time to discharge my mom, she did everything possible to keep my mom there. She even went so far as to accuse me of not caring about my moms well being and not having her best interest at heart. She lied to me, telling me that the doctor didn't want my mom discharged because he didn't feel that it was safe for her to leave yet. I called to doctor to find out why he felt that way, and he said that it was a lie. He said he would never keep a patient there if they are ready to move on. He said that this is not the 1st time that he has received a call from a patients family member, upset after being told the same thing. On the day of discharge, which was scheduled for 11am. I realize they are sometimes behind and am ok with that, but the required paperwork that was being requested for a week still wasn't ready. After waiting for the ride for another hour I asked the name of the transportation company. That's when I learned that they did not order her transportation. She tried to blame it on my moms insurance, but her insurance covers everything, including transportation. 20 minutes later, an UBER showed up to pick my mom up. My mom has dementia, is in a wheelchair and has never been to the new facility she was going to. She should never be in an uber by herself. Unbelievable!

My Mom is there in their care, EVERYONE is nice there! Maria, Roseanne, Donna, Melinda, Lessette, Christina and Jessica! They all been very attentive and caring and plenty of knowledge! People judge facilities on appearance, for a care center I judge how the people are. Maria is my Mom and she showed improvement to her heath being there. I give great gratitude to Monrovia Post Acute!!! AWESOME job to them all!

MY mom was transferred to this facility. When I came at 12:30 she was in the middle of the hallway in a bed because the first room they put her in did not want her. They told me they needed to "wheel out" another patient to put my mom in that room instead. They did that, put my mom in new room without disinfecting it or cleaning it. They rolled the one person out and then put my mom in. The table was crusted with grime and food. Upon getting there I noticed her staples from femur surgery had dried blood in large quantity dried through bandage. I asked about it and was told, "Oh her nurse is on the other side from where she moved from, I don't know if she knows your mom moved yet." Then my mom needed a diaper change, we pushed the button. Someone came 45 mins later and asked what we needed. When I told then they said, "I don't do that, I am here to remove the catheter." I asked if they could get someone. Another person came in about an hour later, " your light is on." I told them she needed to be changed. They said they are from PT and were just checking her joints. I went to the nursing station asking someone to help my mom and they said, "someone already did." I informed them that I had been there the whole time and only two people came in telling me they dont change diapers. Finally someone came in and said they were there to change diaper but they dont have wipes or towels. I asked how they would do it. He used another diaper to clean my mom and said they aren't allowed to have wipes at night that the charge nurse locked them up in the cabinet. I said well that is ridiculous and it was 3pm! He left poop on her front and I asked about it. He said I dont know I dont have wipes. I asked him if I should get paper towels from bathroom and he said, "sure." So I cleaned my mom as he watched. I went out to the nurses station to sign her intake paperwork and started crying and asked why they lock up wipes at night. The lady just apologized. Meanwhile no-one had come to clean her dressing from femur surgery. I left. She called me from her iPad around 7pm and was upset saying she was scared and alone. An aid came in not realizing my mom was on the iPad and said," why do you keep pushing your button, we have already been in here!" and I was like, "hello, I am here hear you talking to to my mom in that tone." The lady informed me that my mom keeps pushing her button wanting to talk to me. I asked for an anxiety pill and she said she can't give them. So I asked for the nurse to call me. At this time I decided to remove my mom from the facility. I came the next am and removed her. Bandage still dried with blood, never changed and there was poop and blood on her bedding. This place is awful!! DO not have your loved ones come here!!!!
