My husband and I recently moved to Cambria from SoCal, where we had been taking semi-private Pilates sessions for 10 years. One big concern moving up to the Central Coast was finding a Pilates instructor who “got” us—and could work with the both of us and our varying needs. We couldn’t be more delighted when we found Rebecca and started taking semi-private sessions with her. She understands the mind-body connection and has expertise not only in Pilates and yoga instruction, but also in occupational therapy and massage therapy. And, she was a very talented dancer! We can tell that she is a life-long learner by the notes she takes and the observations she makes to help us adjust and attune our bodies during the session. She is always eager to expand her Pilates repertoire, too. Her studio is filled with interesting memorabilia, warm and soothing colors, and music to suit our mood during the session. And when we express specific needs we might have, Rebecca adjusts our workout accordingly. We always come out of our session refreshed, relaxed, and invigorated. Thank you, Rebecca!

Rebecca is someone you feel comfortable around the minute you meet her. She is kind, easygoing and has a soft spoken/gentle nature. I have been taking her Yoga & Pilates classes “in nature” and have also had the opportunity for one-on-one instruction. Her medical knowledge of how the body performs stems from her occupational therapy background, and she helps guide you with concise instruction through the process of exercise with a feeling of trust. She teaches her classes in layers, so one can easily adjust to their personal level of comfort from beginner to more advanced. The Pilates Class at Stolo Winery is in a beautiful grassy meadow surrounded by trees and flowers, and it is often warmer there than the chill of the coast. Yoga outside has also been in varied beautiful settings. How lucky are we that Rebecca has brought her knowledgeable skills to our community. There would be no hesitation to doubt, seeking out a class or her Metta Pilates services, to improve your physical health and enjoy exercising!

I’m so incredibly grateful to have found Metta Pilates, right here in Cambria! Rebecca is warm and responsive, while also being highly professional. She keeps notes on how to take me gently, but steadily to the next levels of strength, endurance, balance and flexibility while always being prepared to make adjustments based on what’s going on with my body. I feel so much stronger now after just a few months of working with Rebecca! I sustained a serious knee injury in college, which necessitated extensive surgery and wearing a full ankle-to-hip cast and then having to use crutches for almost a full year. I’ve also had major reconstructive low back surgery. So, being able to get up and move about with less pain and more strength and flexibility has literally changed my life! Rebecca is also an Occupational Therapist, so I have the confidence and peace of mind of knowing that she’s bringing that specialized background to my sessions with her. Before I started working with Rebecca, I’d been very slow and extremely anxious about moving up and down the stairs in my house or out in public because of the pain and also a feeling of unsteadiness, which could be frightening. Because the range of motion and strength in my knees has improved so much from my Metta Pilates sessions, I’m now able to take stairs pretty smoothly, with one foot in front of the other for the first time in 50 years! I’m just absolutely amazed by that! Working to help people of any age, but especially seniors, improve the quality of their lives is Rebecca’s calling and it shows in everything she does. I leave each session with a renewed sense of hope, peace and accomplishment and that’s also part of Rebecca’s gift to her clients.

This is an amazing Pilates class and I highly recommend it! Rebecca is an outstanding teacher with a lot of experience and a wonderful personality. It is great for all levels as Rebecca offers several levels of her poses based on each individual's skill level. The class is great for anyone looking to build their core and develop muscle toning and especially good for people with low back issues. The setting at Stolo is so beautiful and relaxing. You will leave feeling toned, refreshed, relaxed and energized!

My friend and I had the best introduction to pilates experience in a semi-private class! Rebecca is kind, welcoming, and great at explaining new skills. We will definitely be back.

Over the years I have had access to Pilates DVDs, classes from Peleton, etc., but have always found excuses to put off using them. I received a gift at Christmas of two private online lessons with Rebecca and I am hooked! Her OT background is so helpful in guiding those of us “seniors” with our various aches and pains to be strong and healthy. I love the private sessions which are so individualized and I love the group online classes and their energy, as well. For me, it’s all about accountability! When I have to register for a class and engage with an instructor in real time, I am consistent with exercise. These classes have really been a gift for body, mind, and soul! Thank you, Rebecca!
