We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and the professionalism of the staff. Everyone was cheerful and friendly with the patients and visitors.

I don’t understand the negative reviews here. EVERYONE, from the business office, front desk, kitchen, social worker, nurses, CNA’s, doctors, physical therapists, to housekeeping staff treated us all with compassion and had an such positive demeanors. Daily we were greeted with smiles and everyone bent over backwards to make my Dads 2 month experience in Rehab here truly healing. (He was T-boned by an 18-wheeler). Me and my Mom came every single day. I’ve dealt with other rehabs in the area (Northside, Jacksonville) in the past with another family member and McGuffeys is hands down #1!!! Me and my family are forever grateful!

I have a very hard time getting in touch with my husband's nurse and or social worker. The phones are never being answered. If they do answer then you are stuck with ringing til no end then a machine tells you that you can't leave a message SMH!

I had to go into McGuffey's for physical therapy and if I have to go into rehab again, I will go to a different facility. I was taking a certain kind of medication that I needed every 8 hours and I had to ask for it specifically because they wouldn't give it to me otherwise. I had an uncle who was there before he died. He complained about the food and the nurses because they would ALWAYS come in and wake him up in the middle of the night. He never did figure out why they did that. If I could figure out who to file a complaint to, I will, in a heartbeat!!!

This is the third time my mom has been in rehab. She liked this place well enough the first two times that she wanted to return after having complications from back surgery. The third time was not a charm by any stretch of the imagination. She was basically ignored. Some days she didn’t get her medication on time. She was to get antibiotics 4 times a day and some days didn’t get it until the night shift came in. Her pain medication was sometimes not given until over two hours after the time they were requested. She was only asked twice if she wanted a bath. On one day she asked for a bath and was told there was no one to help her get it. Some of the time aids filled out her menu choosing foods she didn’t like and could not eat. She enjoyed her therapy and had no complaints with that department at all. All in all we are appalled at the change in actions of the services of this place.

My mother has only been there a couple of days and I promise you as soon as I can get her out of there I am! We can’t go in to visit her because of their COVID rules which is understandable however, the staff informed us that we had to call 30 minutes prior so they could get her ready at her window. So we called in advance as requested an hour later, they finally came in…after my (very disabled) mother managed to make it to the window to see us…she did not even have a chair to sit in where she could see us! She could not stand for very long so she had to cut the visit short. As much money as people in the healthcare profession make, why can’t they actually have a little pride in what they do? My mother had to sit in her own urine from 3am until someone finally came into her room several hours later because they put the call button out of her reach and another instance the same thing only this time she called for assistance to get to the restroom and no one EVER came! Two days later they finally got her a walker so they didn’t have to help her at all. My mother also has gout and is not supposed to eat ANY pork EVER! But they serve pork 3-4 times a week for dinner and EVERY SINGLE DAY for breakfast. So we asked why she wasn’t on the diet the doctor had her on in the hospital and they said the only special diet they do is low sodium. What kind of elderly rehab facility would not accommodate a diet for a 79 year old woman who can barely walk as it is but feeding her pork will swell her legs so that she won’t be able to walk at all! I know because I’ve seen it first hand! I’m beyond livid over this. Idc how many cases/patients they have and idc if they are understaffed. That’s their job! I bet that financial aspect gets priority attention though, you people are absolutely worthless. I hope your mother or father NEVER has to go through this.
