I was overwhelmed when I first started considering therapy. I was experiencing a time in my life that could easily be described as my lowest, and I knew that I needed help. My unfounded fear was that mental health provider would dismiss or belittle my challenges. Up until my first session with Abegail, I was still of that mindset and nearly canceled out of sheer apprehension. I am absolutely overjoyed that I stuck with it. Abegail is a compassionate and welcoming provider I would recommend to anyone looking to make changes in their life. Mat-Su Mental Health will do exactly as their mission statement says; help you heal, change, and grow.

My experience has been awesome! Mary is so kind and will make sure to pair you up with the right therapist! My therapist Sarah was amazing. I can’t thank them both enough for the work they have put into making me feel better!

When reaching out to a mental health counselor, compassion and care are what you are reaching out for the most! Someone that shows you the compassion and concern that you are in need of some mental help is enough as it is. To speak with someone after taking that huge step to say I need help is huge. When someone at the other end of the phone is extremely caring and compassionate about helping you is huge to someone reaching out! Thank you to Mary for being just that, at Mat-Su Mental Health! Mary was down to earth real and extremely caring and compassionate! That initial contact is so important when reaching out. Mary set me up with Kathy, and she is fantastic to talk to! She is venturing out on her own in business for herself and I am following her. I have mixed feelings wanting to stay with this organization for taking such great care of me. If something fails ahead, I will be back reaching out once again Mary❣️ I thank you for your Grace 100%❣️🙏🤗

Excellent experience from my initial contact to each session. Intake and scheduling was communicative, caring and timely. Office is home like and welcoming. My therapist made me feel comfortable and heard from day one. She not only offers a warm, compassionate and safe space but has provided helpful and practical tools that have made a positive influence on my daily life.

I was seeking support for the winter blues. As we all know the long winters in Alaska can take a toll on our emotions. I can honestly say…Talking with Kathy was the best support I could ask for! I had a great experience with the office staff setting up my appointments & billing my insurance. Establishing as a patient was really easy just a quick form online! I highly recommend May-Su Mental Health.

I will forever be thankful for Mary and her life changing advice she has given me. I have suffered from pregnancy/postpartum anxiety and depression. She has given me so many tools to navigate through this period in my life. Motherhood is not easy but her appointments support me tremendously. I would not be where I am today, without her. The office is clean, comfortable and it truly feels like home. Thank you, thank you MatSu Mental Health for being here and serving the people in our community!

I am so very happy with Mat-Su Mental Health and the service they provided to our family in a desperate time of need. It's one thing to have adopted children, but a complete different situation when dealing with the trauma and hard life lessons that come with growing up after the experiences of being in OCS and the foster system. The team is excellent and I would recommend them for family therapy and individual therapy for adolescents. They are extraordinary people and a great asset to our community.

Sarah Bannister is gentle, patient, understanding, and creative--and exactly who my daughter and I needed when exploring a therapeutic relationship for each of us. Highly recommend both Sarah and Mat-Su Mental Health for all people navigating today's complex and difficult world (i.e. for all people, period).
