Picked up my mom for Thanksgiving dinner at my brother’s house. She was dressed beautifully; lovely sweater and matching scarf tied in a fashionable way. Maggie was the staff member that went above and beyond. She also blew dried and styled my mother’s hair. She looked like she came out of the salon. Everyone complemented my mom. This made her day! Thanks Mansfield for your great care!!! Mary in 219 thanks you too!

The Center is welcoming. The staff and several patients were very friendly. The guy we were visiting was in the hall when we arrived, all smiles. It is a very positive place! I've known two other people who were there for rehab. Both parties were VERY satisfied with their treatment. The visitors are glad their family/friend are in great hands.

First time visiting my friend on the first floor. I’m like wow!! Everyone was so helpful at check in and her nursing staff was phenomenal. They were in and out the whole time I was there. Very personable and friendly. Leaving was even a good experience! I was having trouble with the code to exit and the floor, and the girl at the desk came over immediately to give me a hand. If I need rehab-I hope I can come here!!

I was very impressed with your facility. I have worked and visited numerous rehabilitation csnter the cleanliness and no smell of urine any place. The cleanliness of the clients I was overwhelmed with the staff. The smiles on their faces and how they showed empathy for the client and family. Very accommodating and the interest they showed to my sister. Meeting the recreation therapist smiling and making that rapport and eye contact with the client and family. We were very impressed with your facility and happy that my sister is there with such kind and caring staff. Didn’t get the name of the aide that was with her when we arrived but she was the key to making us feel welcome. Thank you

This place is gone downhill in the last 10 years. Not enough help, you can ask three or four times over the course of 4 hours if you need something and then you have to go to the front desk and ask again and tell them that you've been asking. My dressing was supposed to be changed every day, they've been skipping days. It took four days for the pharmacy to give them my psych meds and I had to get a family member to go to my apartment and get my own bottle. It's bad enough being in here and being in pain without going through emotional withdrawal because you don't have your meds Was given three times my dosage of immediate release blood pressure tablets instead of one extended release capsule. Against my better judgment I took them and my blood pressure tanked. They had to make sure that I stayed in bed and drank lots of water until it started to come up to normal. Good thing it wasn't something else that may have killed somebody. The nurse that gave them to me was very defensive and said she was only doing what she saw on the computer. I spoke to the supervisor and she said when I questioned it, the nurse should have followed through and questioned it also. They just do what they're told without any critical thinking for themselves Whoever gave them the med list from Backus hospital actually put that dose down for TWICE a day which really would have killed me. She was livid and doesn't understand how that could have happened because she said that everything is checked twice. And as far as cleanliness the bathroom smells like urine and not one time did I see anybody in here with a mop. I've been here a week and my tray table has never been wiped off, bedding never changed. And the food?? They said they're in the process of getting new contractors for the kitchen so the kitchen is just using up all their spare garbage for food. It is incredibly salty everything is mushy and overcooked, I couldn't even eat lunch and dinner tonight because it was unacceptable and I'm really not picky as far as food. One of the CNAs was able to make me a peanut butter sandwich and give me some yogurt. I asked kitchen if I could have a salad tonight and they left me a note and said they have no more salad. People cannot heal with this food. There are maybe four people that I've seen since I've been here that actually get you what you need, when you ask for it. Otherwise they get amnesia the minute they walk out of your room. This clown show is in dire need of more help, and they need to be re-educated and use their brain instead of just being on automatic. I will be contacting the state of connecticut, medicaid, and FLIS.. most nursing homes are like this and if there's any way you could avoid a nursing home and do home care, you should do that. If not, you need to be an advocate for whoever is in here. You need to watch everything and document everything. Also read the last two inspection sheets that they have near front desk. Very poor documentation on their part. **EDIT**the administrator came in to see me after reading this review. Said they have changed hands, they're in the process of overhauling staff and kitchen help. He said they didn't tell him about the med mixup, and if staff told me I could talk to him about this, I would've. Some staff were from outside agencies and won't be 'invited' back. He was very understanding. If you ever have issues, I would encourage you to go to the top person.

Had a great time at Mansfield Rehab today playing and singing for the folks there! The staff was encouraging and supportive and the residents were enthusiastic and appreciative. It was a very positive atmosphere!

Besides the care given to the residents at the Mansfield Center, there is respect and genuine appreciation of the families who visit. This makes a comfortable, safe atmosphere for us all. The experience is a joy.
