Mammoth Orthopedic Institute

Our family has had many instances to use Mammoth Orthopedics. All very good outcomes. I will be having my second knee replacement with Dr Karch soon. Beyond this We have had very extensive hospital stays across the country. Mammoth is our favorite. We live in Southern California.

Before I moved to Mammoth, I had already heard around town about Mammoth Orthopedics being one of the best. I wound up needing care from this center and am all the more better, pain free, and happier after I did. They were able to process my information and schedule a surgery very promptly. The doctor’s are well knowledgeable. I saw Christine MacPherson (sp?), Carly Dawson, and Michael Karch, all of whom had a great “bedside manner,” and thoroughly explained and answered all of my questions. The post-op inpatient center was great as well. Mammoth Lakes is so lucky to have this center in its small town.

Dr Karch was really great. He listened to my concerns and helped me understand what could be done to resolve my knee problems. He was very patient with his explanations and helping me understand the options. I would recommend him to anyone with knee issues.

Orthopedic department at Mammoth Hospital is top notch. They are caring, friendly, timely, attentive .. I can't give enough compliments. Special shout out to Dr. CRAWL & Christine Stimson.

Unfortunately this clinic is very unprofessional and money hungry. When I scheduled the appointment, I was told my insurance is ok. In fact, they are in network with my insurance when I checked on my insurance’s app. However, at the time of the appointment I was told I have to self pay. They also included imaging that I already did in ER. Since I am just visiting Mammoth, I can get better care from one of the Top 20 hospital in US when I fly back home, unfortunately great people in Mammoth have to stuck with this place.

When other doctors in the area misdiagnosed or dismissed me, Dr. Gilmer at Mammoth Ortho did not! He’s extremely knowledgable and was very detailed answering my concerns and questions. He fixed my knee for good! Dr. Gilmer, the admin staff, the medical staff and the physical therapists at Mammoth Ortho are super intelligent, friendly, and made me feel genuinely cared for! They are truly the best!!! I’ve never been so satisfied with my medical care!

Carly Dawson was very thorough with my X-rays and appointment in orthopedics today. I’m hopeful for pain relief with physical therapy.
