I love this practice! We use Dr. Rux for both of our children, and from day one he has been the most attentive and understanding doctor I have ever experienced. All of the staff are kind and simply reasonable. They have supported us on our parenting plan every step of the way and provided nothing but sound advice to us for the past 10 years.

After a lackluster delivery and postpartum experience at South Baldwin, we decided to look outside this group for our newborn's pediatrician. We landed on this practice and have been seeing Dr. Rux. He and the staff are a breath of fresh air! Professional, friendly and caring.

They have been my children's pediatrician since we have been in this area. They have always been fantastic and helpful for my kiddos needs.

Would not recommend. Nurses have attitude and doctors don’t like to do their jobs. My baby was on Enfamil for a year and he had a horrible reactions EVERYDAY! Doctor Rux along with other nurses kept telling me it was normal. My baby is now 12 months and he did not stop puking up through he nose and mouth until the day I took him off. Which was a few weeks ago. Not to much among other reactions he had. Not blaming the staff but this could’ve of been prevented if they would have just did their jobs correctly and changed his milk but obviously they did not care.

The doctors and nurses are great. They recently got a new receptionist who is a bit rude and not very helpful. They don’t ever have appointments open same day so if your kid wakes up with a fever, oh well I guess. And then they don’t schedule for more than the next day. Like you can’t schedule a sick appointment two days out.

I have never been more insulted by a doctor than I was today. Doctors are supposed to make patients and their parents feel comfortable with their care and medical advice. This is not the case today with Dr. Rux at Magnolia Springs Pediatrics. We went in for a 5 year check up today. My son was due to get 3 vaccines (DTaP & Polio combo, Hep A, and MMRA). 2/3 of the vaccine information sheets given by the nurse mentioned, “talk with your healthcare provider if patient has a history of seizures.” I mentioned it to the nurse and she made me show her exactly where it said so on the forms. So, naturally we had concern about giving these vaccines to our son who is on medication daily for seizure activity. The doctor was extremely rude and not considerate of our concerns as parents AT ALL. He immediately stated he has over 1000 (doubtful) patients with seizure activity who get vaccines and never had 1 with a seizure. This was not in a tone that made you feel at ease. Instead it was a condescending, matter-of-fact tone. He added that it even mentions seizures on the back of a Motrin bottle. I just looked at the back of my Motrin bottle & the word seizure is not listed once. So he was talking out of his behind on that one. And if we chose not to vaccine our son, we would no longer be receiving care with their practice. He said they follow the CDC guidelines for vaccination. The documents they gave us that told us to ask a healthcare provider were from the CDC!! We said we didn’t feel comfortable doing it without speaking with his pediatric neurologist and he said, “ok” and walked out and shut the door. The manner he addressed us in was unprofessional and certainly did not make us feel comfortable with continuing care with him. Not every patient is the same or can be put under the same umbrella. Doctors should know that. He’s clearly never witnessed his child having seizure activity in his arms, and the helpless feeling you have. It may make him have a little more sensitivity to the matter. We have seen April in this practice numerous times with our other child (unsure why we didn’t see her today) and she is one of the best we have seen! She goes above and beyond the call! Can’t not say enough good things about her. She takes time with her patients. Interacts with them. And always gave us parents peace of mind knowing our child was in good hands under her care. That’s what a pediatric provider should do!

Best ever!! We love both doctors and April! The nurses and staff are so sweet and they make going to the doctor easy for us! I could never imagine using anyone else for my kids!! Dr. Walker and his wife, Anna have even met us at the office when they were closed because my little boy had an ear infection! I have been a nurse for 10 yrs and have never met a doctor like Dr. Walker, he can just look at a child and know what's wrong! My kids also love them, which is very important!

We love Dr Rux but have had multiple issues with the admin staff. Have tried to get my child’s ADD prescription refilled Time and time again over the years. Due to time restraints for when we can get it submitted, to pharmacies being out for a week, to getting a higher dose we often lose days. Not everything is clean cut and laid out from one to the next. We took my son to see the doctor for a checkup Nov. 16. At this visit a new prescription was given. We still had 14 days to go on his existing one. We finished out the one he was on then picked up the new one the 1st of Dec. Now they are requiring another visit before they will write a prescription. Now my son may run out of meds before we can get more I don’t see any new information that will come from this other visit other than my copay. This is ridiculous. We’re talking about 10 days not 8 weeks.
