When writing a review, especially one that countless families may rely on to make some of the toughest decisions of their lives, it should be informative but more importantly it should be accurate. I give four stars to Lynbrook Restorative Nursing Home because they deserve them and families can feel comfortable about the service they will receive from the staff. Take for example the first person you deal with when admitting a loved one, the social worker. Ms. Ava R. The hardest working social worker in the business. Sometimes you may catch her running from one meeting to the next meeting so if you have a question speak fast or walk and talk. She returns your calls because she's too busy handling her case loads during the day but she cares. And she always greets you with a smile and a caring word. Take for example John Ab. He greets the residents with a warm smile and makes them feel special if just for the short while that he checks their sugar and services them. And again, take for example Anthony J. the therapist. He truly spends his time servicing the residents with gentle caring therapy sessions. Taking the time to talk with the patients and he truly goes way beyond the call of duty to make the elderly residents feel that they matter. I could go on and on about the people who do the real work in the facility from the pastry chefs , to the lady who sweeps the floor because they care about the lives of the people they serve and if you're fortunate enough to get in, you will be in good hands. Then there is what I call the BIG WIGS. Thank God the administration at Nursing homes has no direct dealings with the care of the residents. There is a lopole in the Medicare system that is exploited. And every Nursing home knows about it. The goal is to pretend to have a long-term bed for your loved one just to get them in for the allotted 100 days at top dollar. Once that time is up, your kicked out of your room for more lucrative patients. Your then put into a holding room with six residents who are all being told there are no bed for long term residents and you must seek out residence elsewhere. They don't return calls, never. I mean never ever and another never. It's so unfortunate that staff at a facility can get it right and those in charge has the morals of....who prey on the small amount of government funds provided to the elderly at the last stages of life.we all have elderly love ones. We also all have mirrors and a reflection. It's that reflection that allows us to sleep at night and rise each and every morning to care for those who are unable to care for themselves. Unfortunately some mirrors are cracked. And regardless, Lynbrook Restorative deserves four ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ . Thank you Lynbrook for our short stay.

Immaculate facility. Front desk friendly and helpful. CNA, Marlene, went way above board to help my dad. She got him a sandwich, was kind, and responded to the call bell in record time. We visited on the patio. The room was big. The big screen tv was so practical for the elderly. Thank you, for making my drive home light knowing I didn’t have to worry. My daughter was so happy to see Grandpa doing so well.

Nesly Saintil,Director of Patient Experience, is what makes this rehabilitation center a Five (5) Star Experience. My three weeks at Lynbrook Restorative (here forward LYNBROOK) would have been an absolute nightmare without her due diligence and professionalism each and every day she was at work. The only other people who came close to the care that Ms. Saintil provided would be the folks in the Gym specifically Kimberly, Emily, Michelle, Brian and Adam. Everyone was amazing. As far as nursing care the morning and early evening shifts are good but after 10pm you are best to hire a private nurse because LYNBROOK turns into a very scary place to be. You are absolutely locked in on the first floor after 9:00pm like prison. You can’t leave your hallway, you are never offered anything to drink or eat after your 5:30 dinner and it’s depressing and scary. It makes The Shining look nice. Sometimes in the very early morning hours you can’t find an aide or RN it’s pathetic. Order all your meals in or have family bring you meals. Their food is borderline animal feed and they, kitchen staff, don’t listen to patients and family at all. I lost 27 pounds in 3 weeks because I couldn’t consume anything. Upon discharge don’t sign anything until you read everything. And don’t let them put you in the care of ROYAL HOMECARE they are absolutely unresponsive unprofessional and disrespectful. I would much rather be back in LYNBROOK than under the care of ROYAL HomeCare where they lie to you and to social workers, they have no idea who you are every time you call etc.. Thank God for Nesly Saintil she is absolutely the saving Grace and Angel of LYNBROOK she should be training everyone on how to be professional and how to be respectful and caring towards patients and their loved ones. She is LYNBROOK no one else cares about the building and staff and most importantly the patients then Nesly. God bless her.

I have many years of experience visiting elderly & infirm relatives in many rehab & nursing facilities in the NY area. They are not fun places to visit & my expectations were low, to be honest. The staff at Lynbrook were very nice, very professional and very helpful. My lifelong friend and his wife who are patients there seemed content and well cared for. As the expression goes” There’s no place like home” but if you need to be stuck somewhere for awhile, then Lynbrook is not such a bad place to be.

If you are looking for a fabulous facility you could greatly consider Lynbrook restorative and nursing care this is the third time I am here and I keep returning for a reason I am treated with the up most of respect and dignity and they are so wonderful with all the residents we have excellent activities and a excellent activity director named Derek and Vedia who runs the show here is so Hands-On she's not afraid to get her hands dirty and she is such an asset to this facility. There are several other employees that deserve honorable mention Donna the assistant administrator Cheri head nurse and Jennifer as well as Ava the social worker. You will surely be as impressed as I am so come on down for a tour at your earliest convenience sincerely Robin Intravaia.

I highly recommend Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing. While no facility is perfect, Lynbrook Restorative is as close as you can get! My husband George was admitted here in April from LIJ due to COPD exacerbation and was in need of PT and OT services. He also had lung cancer and was on oral medication which we provided. As a result many facilities would not take him, but luckily for us Lynbrook Restorative did. From the beginning my husband received excellent care and was treated with compassion and kindness by everyone. While he was initially making progress with his PT and OT and seemed to be recovering, unfortunately he took a turn for the worse in June and was placed in palliative care due to his COPD. My family and I were grateful that he was able to stay here where everyone already knew and loved him. We will be forever indebted to all of you at Lynbrook Restorative for treating us like family and providing the comfort and care my husband needed during his final days. God bless you all.
