We received exceptional care at the Lutheran home. The staff was compassionate and understanding of my mother’s needs. The facilities cleanliness, responsiveness, and tailored care made it feel like a genuine home to my mother. We are forever grateful to the Lutheran home.

I highly recommend the Lutheran Home! I am a medical social worker with extensive experience working in rehabilitation facilities, hospitals and home care. My family member was a recent resident of The Lutheran Home STR. She had an acute ICU hospitalization and was too weak to return home. She chose The Lutheran Home STR in hopes of regaining her strength and endurance. She succeeded due to the Amazing staff and Team Approach at The Lutheran Home. She was admitted the evening before Thanksgiving. We thought the facility would be short staffed due to the holiday yet we were incorrect. She received ongoing care and support by staff. CNAs, RN’s, dietary, housekeeping, rehab all had very caring and pleasant mannerisms and excellent bed side manners. Administration staff including laundry director even visited her with a thorough introduction. Words cannot describe how pleased we are with the Lutheran Home. She graduated from rehab and is home doing very well. I Highly Recommend the Lutheran Home for short and long term care needs!!!

If I could have, I would have given zero stars….. My mother was at the Lutheran home for just about a month the amount of disorganization, lack of decency, and respect that the nurses and CNA’s provide is astonishing. I was on the phone with my mother just the other day before she was released and I heard a nurse tell her that she’d have to wait 30 minutes before she could take her to the bathroom, naturally I was upset because that’s uncalled for and not to mention inhumane, so I called the facility and was placed on hold for just about 15 minutes to speak with a supervisor… We won’t even go into the fiasco that was created when the facility set up transportation for my mother to be picked up by a medical van and transported home. My mother didn’t have a wheelchair accessible to her. You would think it was a crime for us to ask to borrow the wheelchair and bring it right back. It was as if we were tackled by three nurses when we asked to borrow a chair it would’ve been returned within an hour. We were actually yelled at for asking. Let’s also add the fact that when I asked for a copy of her medical records, the nurse slammed the door in my face, but that was right after she rolled her eyes at me heaven, for bid, I ask for something that I’m entitled to, and make her work for something. I will say that my mother is in worse shape than she was before. She entered the doors of the Lutheran Home, her health has declined, and the minute family becomes involved and asks any questions that may put a ripple in the way that the nurses do things that’s when they start to treat your family member with disrespect. We had an issue with how they were administering medication‘s, and when we found out that there was a legitimate mistake in the dosage of a medication that controls blood pressure, of course the nurse got defensive, and would not give us a copy of the medication list that was only one of the very many issues that we encountered in less than a month. All I will say is if you have a loved one that needs to be in a skilled facility don’t put them here you will not be at all appeased with the care that they will receive.

My mother went there and was treated with the best hospitality I have ever seen! She felt like she gained a new family coming here. I would highly recommend this facility if you want a loved one to be not only cared for, but treated with the upmost respect.

Great place for my father to receive short term rehab. The whole team is wonderful including the nursing staff, the therapists, social worker, admissions coordinator, receptionist etc. Clean facility, very friendly staff who goes above and beyond and the care shows here.

Every time anyone in the family visits we can hear a woman screaming in the halls. Insulting people as they walk by screaming for coffee, cussing out staff. Luckily, my aunt was at the other end of the hall and when we closed the door we could not hear her, but I feel sorry for the people that are near this woman. I know it is not her fault, but nobody does ANYTHING to quiet her down. Nothing. My aunt says the can’t sleep because of this woman yelling. Is this even legal? I would never recommend this place.

Went to The Lutheran Home after I had my left knee replacement surgery. Also had a problem with the saphenous nerve. Am a retired RN so I assure you that I know what I’m talking about. The PT & OT Departments are better than exceptional; they are extraordinary. Am not related to anyone who works there. This is a legitimate evaluation from a “real” patient.

This place looks nice but the doctors are never there; the physician assistant can't do more than give Tylenol. My mom was in her own feces for 25 minutes before the staff helped her. I can't imagine how long she would have stayed like that but I was there at the time so that was probably a quick response. My mom was there for rehab after a hospital stay due to UTI. They changed all her meds and despite my pleas and the fact that her Dr is supposed to be on call; nothing happened until I threatened to call the police. Once the meds were back to normal she was doing better. One day she was good. Next day something was not right. I know the signs and asked for tests and antibiotics. The PA could only give Tylenol. Twelve hours later; at 2 am, the Dr who never saw her sent us to the er. She does have a raging UTI. Her rehab will be set back big time. If all you want is a place to store your loved one this is ok. If your loved one might need more than a Tylenol avoid. I wanted to leave a review on their website but there's only one 5 star review and no way to add another. That's got to tell you something.
