I would give zero stars if that was an option. This place is understaffed, and most (not all) people who work there couldn’t care any less for the elders. Took my grandma there to give my MIL a break, but we couldn't leave her more than 3 days. One of the worst experiences of my life!

I only give a 1 star because I have to rate it in some capacity. Negative 1 star is more appropriate. This is a place that people with no family or voice are sent to die. Do not allow anyone you care about to go there. They will be ignored and allowed to starve to death. The food is disgusting and the lack of true concern for a patients well being is missing. I would not place my pet in their care. Not to mention they will financially take advantage of people in their care that are not really capable of thinking for them selves. This is just the first step in my assault. I plan to file a compliant with the regulatory agencies that over see this place and bring hellfire down on them.

I do not recommend this convalescent hospital at all. Completely unprofessional and often rude to the patients and their family members. They have poor communication and if you try to call or speak to someone regarding issues, they have excuses and are quite defensive. A lot of times, I was told that the correct person that I need to speak with is either not at work that day and or in a meeting and they would need to take a message and they would call me back, but I have yet to receive any calls back from them regarding my family member. The staff there seem poorly trained and don’t know what’s happening with the patients. I’ve been told by my family member that they don’t always come right away and clean you up if you urinate and or defecate on yourself and leave you sitting in it until they decide to help you. The social service department is not helpful whatsoever and refuses to work with patients family members. They never send you paperwork that you requested, if your belongings gets lost and or stolen from you, the refuse to accept that they are responsible and will not replace them even if they were inventoried. They will not let you bring your family member any outside food that they might like, even though the staff brings their lunches into the facility and or let the staff leave the facility for lunch and could possibly bring Covid-19 back to the convalescent hospital. They will not allow you to bring new clothing for your family member due to Covid-19??? They do not allow visitors since March of 2020 yet the staff is able to come in and out freely? How are they regulating that? Why cant they come up with some sort of plan so that their patients are able to visit with family and or friends safely? Couldn’t they do temperature checks for visitors and or social distancing in one of their many courtyards? While still following CDC guidelines??? Don’t they realize that their patients need human interaction with their family and or friends to maintain healthy mental well-being? Do they even care? Do they listen to their patients complaints and or concerns?!? I don’t think so, they brush them off and or lie to the patients and say they are working on it. The food here is absolutely atrocious and wouldn’t even feed it to my dog. My family member never knows what they are eating because they purée it. The don’t seem to concerned about their patients needs and or family members needs. They neglect their patients mental health as well as physical health. A lot of the nurses seem irritated that they have to do their jobs and or help the patients. They get angry if you ask them questions or need reassurance. It seems to me that they are in the wrong profession and definitely shouldn’t be in the health care industry. Please think twice about bringing your family members here and please do extensive research before hand. If they seem unwilling to answer your questions now and or give you any information now, imagine what it would be like once your family member is in the facility. In my opinion the entire staff needs to be replaced with caring, informed, compassionate people who actually like helping people and their families.

Staff is poorly trained, don't listen, don't read patient charts, and generally don't seem to understand their jobs. They think physical therapy is treatment for the lower body while occupational therapy is the same thing for the upper body. The least they could do is google this stuff if their management wont educate them properly. Seriously, how is this place credentialed with insurance carriers?? They woke my mother up in the middle of the night to give her pain meds that were prescribed for pain management when needed as determined by the patient. She was asleep, you idiots!! Let her sleep! She doesn't need those meds then! Her case manager doesn't seem to know much about her condition and thinks she can't walk. She can walk just fine. She fell at home because of a cat-related trip hazard, not because she needs a walker. I'm very close to consulting with one of our attorneys about this.

Thanking all the staff for Helping me get back on my feet. I wasn't sure if I was going to make it. Well with all the Love and Support and Care I received. I made it to see another day. I was admitted to the emergency on December 14th and discharge from the Care unit on January 14th. Spent the whole Christmas, New Years Holiday recovering. Thank you so much for all that you did to help me out. Highest respect to you All. 🙏❤️

2 nurses just stood outside my dads room and gossiped and cussed for 25 minutes. 1 has blonde highlights in her brown hair. Such horrible behavior for "trained" professionals.

With the costs of senior care in CA skyrocketing, Los Palos provides a reasonable level of care at a reasonable cost. Can accommodate varying levels of care. Not the best option, but not the worst.

The staff is very courteous and helpful. They stay in constant communication and they treat our mom with respect. The staff handles all in a professional manner and we appreciate all that they do for us.
