I went to Dr. Gary with backpains, tightness and occasional sharp pains on right knee due to an 8 years old ACL surgery. I've been to many physical therapists, chiropractors and acupuncturists and have never experienced the attention to details to my health as Dr. Gary. He's one of a kind, honestly cares for your well-being, and listens. Definitely highly recommend Dr. Gary. I even booked an appointment for my son to see Dr. Gary.

I've struggled with multiple long-standing injuries that make focusing on any single issue challenging. I've seen a lot of PTs over the past few years, and Gary's ground-up approach in considering different injuries and how they affect each other together has greatly improved my pain levels and exercise ability more than anyone else I have worked with. Gary is thorough with diagnosis and takes a lot of care to identify the underlying root causes of symptoms beyond surface-level factors, and has picked exercises to target these underlying causes with great specificity. For example, a quick Google search can identify simple ankle mobility exercises post-ankle-boot, but Gary has helped find exercises that target my specific mobility deficiencies. Everything feels extremely tailored to my experience and progress. He also has high attention to detail in ensuring that exercises are done correctly. Gary takes an evidence-based approach with measuring how effective our rehab plan is against my ability to perform benchmark exercises, so we can see the effect that treatment has within an individual session and course correct quickly if something isn't working. I can also see how those benchmarks improve over time, giving me confidence that our treatment plan is working. I ask a lot of questions during our sessions, and Gary always gives me detailed answers. I feel like I have a strong idea of why we're doing what we're doing at any given time. Working with Gary also doesn't feel like it ends when our sessions end. He answers texts and emails quickly and will never hesitate to review a video of me performing our exercises at home. This constant feedback loop gives me confidence in my ability to follow through on our rehab programs. Overall, I could not recommend him more strongly for anyone experiencing any sort of orthopedic pain.

I had a fantastic time here at LPI with Dr. Gary Chen. He was extraordinarily knowledgeable, provided great client-centered care, and created a safe space for me to work on my goals. He made an amazing program after the initial evaluation and gave me great insight into my physical impairments. He continuously updated my care program to tailor it to my specific condition and progress whenever I saw him. He is definitely my favorite PT, and I have always had the pleasure of working with him. I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for quality physical therapy!

Gary at LPI Physical Therapy is an excellent Therapist. He's extremely helpful and generous with his expertise. He's great at explaining the different mechanisms of the exercises he teachers and creates a strategic gameplan for you depending on your specific ailments. I went in to see Gary this past summer because of chronic ankle issues and with his help, I have made huge strides in the process of building up the surrounding muscles and preventing further pain. I would recommend Gary to any one in the area looking for an extensive physical therapy program that works.

So I came across Gary's practice/information on Instagram. Normally, I think we're all skeptical about ads on social medial. But this was one of those times where taking a chance was SO worth it. Everyone has different physical issues, so I'll get right to my general experience. In short, Gary is great. He hears you out without rushing you. You feel heard and he is happy to answer any/all questions you have. Instead of forcing me to do XYZ or a specific program, Gary always adapted to my needs and feedback. If one exercise wasn't working, we would pivot and try another approach. He had a very gentle approach, but still very hands on at the same time. For me, I need to know the reason and explanation for WHY I am doing a certain stretch or exercise. I know it's not always the simplest thing to explain how the body works, but Gary was always great at explaining how things worked clearly and precisely, but WITHOUT diluting or 'dumbing down' the information. I only met with him once a month, but the information he provided about how to do the exercises at home was so helpful and clear. Lastly, I came in with an issue on my left side/upper back/shoulder. It was something that bothered me 3-4 times a week. After a few months with Gary, it is something that now only flares up maybe once every 10 days - if at all. Long story short, I would highly recommend at least visiting Gary for a consultation. That's what I did and it ended up being a very productive/fruitful relationship.

I started working with Dr Gary because I have a really bad arthritis issue in my hip. While I'm not back at 100 percent I have been able to walk and hike more regularly. Before starting with lpi I had days where driving around was hard enough. He does a great job of trying to figure the root cause of your issues

I was connected to Dr. Gary through a referral who highly recommended his services. For work I primarily work from home on a computer and due to a busy season, was working 10-12 hours a day on my computer. I started to get intense shoulder pain and some days couldn’t even properly sit due to the pain. This is first time I had experienced something like this and held off on getting help for as long as I could. I’m genuinely so glad to have connected with Dr. Gary because I learned so much about what quality care and treatment looks like. I was shocked at the number of things that contributed to the pain and Dr. Gary did an amazing job of pinpointing everything through root cause analysis and showing me why and how things would get better. After a couple sessions and me doing the at home exercises, I’m happy to say that all of my pain disappeared and hasn’t returned in months. As someone who works long hours, I was so grateful to have received this help and have zero regrets. I’d highly recommend you visit LPI even if it’s just for a consultation, they truly do seem to operate differently from most typical clinics and have highly skilled doctors. Thank you guys!

I have had the privilege of working with Gary to remedy my impinged shoulders, lower back issues, and stiff hamstrings/hips. After the very first visit, I noticed an immediate relief that I did not feel when going with prior physical therapy facilities. Gary is the real deal - he is a knowledgeable, passionate, and empathetic DPT. He understands that many individuals are physiologically unique and specifically personalizes his treatment plan accordingly. He goes into detail in identifying the root cause of every impairment and what exactly a particular exercise is aiming to accomplish, which is refreshing in the medical field. Outside of our sessions, he always makes himself available via phone or email for any questions and concerns. I can only give my highest recommendation to Gary for anyone looking to restore or improve function in their bodies.
