Life Beyond Barriers has been an amazing experience for our daughter. They have pushed her to her full potential and we have seen amazing growth. The therapists are incredibly personal, patient, and creative in their approach. You can really tell they love what they do. In a world where children with disabilities are often over looked and thought of as less, they are actively changing that narrative by how they treat our daughter with dignity and respect. Thank you Life Beyond Barriers!

Discovering Life Beyond Barriers for neuro rehab post-stroke has been a remarkable experience for our family. My 26-year-old daughter recently completed a two-month program with twice-weekly sessions, and the progress she’s made has been remarkable. From our first call with Rachael and throughout the intake process, it was evident that Life Beyond Barriers stands out. Unlike many other facilities, they prioritize personalized care and outcomes without the bureaucratic hassles. The staff are not only experienced but also empowered to design programs that are tailored specifically to individual needs using the latest evidence-based techniques and tools. Trent and Alicia, our daughter’s OT and PT, have been outstanding—showing compassion, expertise, flexibility, and bringing an element of fun to each session. Having been through rehab at several other facilities, we’re especially grateful for the exceptional support and encouragement we received from the entire team at Life Beyond Barriers. It’s been refreshing to find a facility with such expertise in treating younger adults (and people of all ages, really). They’ve truly guided us through our healing journey with care and dedication. Additionally, exploring the charming downtown Rockford before and after appointments was a delightful bonus!

Absolutely wonderful experience as a student volunteer! I have been shadowing here since the beginning of May, and it is by far the best clinic I have shadowed in. Not only have there been a larger variety of cases that I have not seen coming from rural northern Michigan, but the PT’s have gone above and beyond to enhance my experience as student volunteer. The most noteworthy thing about the clinic is the passion these therapists have for their profession which can be easily observed through their interactions with their clients. I have primarily shadowed Alicia, and she has helped answer questions I’ve had about the what and why behind different modalities and tools used in the clinic. After observing her as a therapist, I have seen the importance of building relationships with clients and the impact it makes during the therapy sessions. It’s been an outstanding experience, and I would highly recommend this clinic if you are looking to gain observation hours!

I have been going to Life Beyond Barriers for a few months now and have nothing but the best things to say about my experience and all the staff there. I have mainly worked with Christin but I have worked with nearly every therapist there since I have started and they have all been fantastic! Rachael does an awesome job of managing the facility and after she gave me a tour of the place I knew it was where I needed to be. They keep pushing me hard every visit and have me hopeful to someday reach my goal of a full recovery. I would like to thank everyone at LBBRG for all the help and support I have received and I would recommend them to anyone seeking physical or occupational therapy.

Look no further! This is an EXCELLENT place for therapy. Standard referrals will have you believe that hospitals are the places to go for therapy. Not true. As a lesser-known establishment, Life Beyond Barriers has to put in more work to satisfy their patients. Too many other rehabilitation centers get by on name recognition, and their services tend to be just alright. These popular places were more likely to see me as a diagnosis or some sort of analysis: cerebral palsy, spastic quadriplegia, etc., etc. When it came time to actually practice activities that would strengthen me, other therapies would tell me that everyday tasks were out of the picture due to my disability. LBB delivers exactly what their name suggests: a life beyond barriers. In the past couple months, I’ve learned how to take off and put on my shirt/pants and I am able to lay myself down in bed and swing my feet up on the mattress. My therapists, Sara (PT) and Trent (OT), have really lit fires in my belly. Not only are they giving me effective solutions quicker than I ever imagined—they also believe in me! It’s such a refreshing feeling after spending years being told by other doctors and therapists that I was bogged down by my condition. Their faith in me has, in turn, given me faith and determination in myself—and this has helped me achieve my goals.

Megan is wonderful. Besides being a person I enjoy, she has helped me with my shoulder problems! I feel like I stand straighter and am able to hold my shoulders back without pain. I am thankful my cousin recommended Life Beyond Barriers to me and I could meet all these lovely people that work here.

This has been the best place my son has been to for out patient therapy. Every person at LBB is kind and definitely cares about my son and his progress. They are all supportive and feel like family! I would recommend LBB to anyone who needs therapy especially if they have a TBI! Thank you to everyone at the Rockford location!

I have recently been introduced to the team at Life Beyond Barriers and my experience has been second to none! Rachael, the clinical director, and the staff are incredible! I was there for a wheelchair evaluation and they were meticulous with every detail and clearly had my best interest in mind. They took the time to make sure everything was perfect and made suggestions to not only allow me to more comfortable everyday but also provided me more safety. Things I had never thought about in the 33 years of being in a chair. I live an hour and 30 minutes away from the Rockford office but the drive is well worth it!! The team has my total confidence and I would recommend them to anyone who may need any type of rehabilitation assistance!
