Legend Oaks Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center of Gladewater

My experience with Legend Oaks and their staff was great! Melissa Waller was extremely helpful in walking me thru the process when my brother was very ill. She was patient and kind and always made herself available when I had questions. She is a true asset to the Legend Oaks team and I cannot say enough good things about our interactions.

The staff are so kind and welcoming. The residents are happy and well taken care of at Legend Oaks. Definitely a great facility with great people!

The Director of Nurses and Administrator are both good people. They truly care about the residents and staff. I definitely recommend this facility for anyone looking for a place for a loved one.

When time came for my 94 year old meme to make her transition to a nursing home Legend Oaks had a room available. Of course no one’s wants to have to put a loved on in a facility. But God placed her and our family in the most amazing facility. From the door greater, nurse, techs, cafeteria staff, maintenance, PT/OT and everyone in between were absolutely amazing. If we didn’t like something they would try their very best to fix the situation. When the time came that meme’s (95 1/2 year old) life was coming to an end, they did everything to make her and our family comfortable. I absolutely can’t say enough about this nursing home and the staff.

My mom fell and broke her ankle in 3 places. The first facility we had her in just kept her in bed and we need physical therapy!! Legend Oaks has done an outstanding job taking care of our mother and getting her the rehab she’s needed. If you are looking for a place that actually cares about their patients…. Look no further 🥰

My mother in law came to Legend Oaks for rehab after breaking her hip. She did extremely well there! My husband was very impressed with how clean it was there. It never had a bad smell. My mother in law never complained. She liked the food as well. This is her 3rd time to rehab in the past 5 years. The other two times were absolutely nightmarish. Thank you Legend Oaks!

My mom has been at this nursing home for 3 weeks.she has not received the correct medication yet,not had a shower at all, they feed her cold breakfast if they remember to give her a tray at all. They refuse to allow her to use a bed pan they told her she has to pee and poop in a diaper. For someone who is 77and is of sound mind that is very undignified. I want my mom out of this place have requested 2 times and so far they have refused to send the paper work and allowed her to be moved😡😡😡

This facility is nothing short of incredible. My father was in a horrible abusive situation in another home....Melissa, the DON took action immediately and said she could have my father moved that same day. It took a few extra phone calls on my end before the other home put the transfer through...but Legend Oaks was ready and right there taking action and yes he was moved that day. The next day when my mother and I went to visit and do his paperwork - we were impressed from the time we drove up. They are very secure and follow safety guidelines above and beyond for covid. We met so many of the staff from the Director on down - who each and every one made us feel comfortable with our decision. All the paperwork and rules were gone over and explained thoroughly. When we went to see my father - the difference in him from the day before was amazing. Instead of being stuck in a room in a corner he had a bright airy room with a window and television...he had neither at the other home. His room was bustling with activity from him having lunch to therapists and aids in and out. It was apparent each one was very professional but also very cheery and happy. The way they handled him was very kind and gentle. It was so obvious he felt safer and not afraid as with the other home. We literally left with tears in our eyes at the kindness Legend Oaks has shown my family. Sorry for the long review but knowing what I do now please be very careful where you leave a loved one. It's frightening to think what happens when you aren't allowed to see them and even worse when you finally do. We left Legend Oaks, however, feeling more relief than we had in a month - with more information than we'd been provided and truly feeling my father is being cared for as he should be. They are wonderful about calling and giving updates...instead of having to chase someone calling repeatedly. They immediately took action to address several things previously neglected. We can't say enough good about this facility. They have a great rating and I can wholeheartedly agree if there was a higher one they deserve it.
