Lake Haven Nursing and Rehab Center

Not even one star they deserve. Do not take your loved one there. This place is inhumane. Totally disgusting. Took my husband there and I signed him right out. Transferred him there from the hospital got there and the bed was unmade. A ripped mattress. The room was filthy, the smell of urine and vomit was very overwhelming. The laid him in the bed with just a dirty sheet on it. When I asked them to better seat him down, the nurse brought in a wheelchair from the 1500s full of mold, rusty and all broken up. His diet was small soft bites, but they served him a hot dog for dinner, incredible. I asked to speak to the manager to voice all my concerns and all I got from her was the cold shoulder and told me there was nothing they could do. I deeply DO NOT RECOMMEND this place, unless you want your loved one to suffer humility and be in a very dangerous environment or even a very high risk of getting hurt or even worse, death.

LPN Desiree, RN Rachel and other staff members are helpful and pleasant. Dr. Thorngren is wonderful too. New manager Ellie has made a number of improvements in a short time and they haven't gone unnoticed. There's still a ways to go but they are headed in the right direction.

My mom has been here for over a year. The staff works hard to take care of all of their patients. They love my mom and care about her. As everyone seems to be these days they are short staffed, but the employees there work hard to get things done .The director is very friendly and available to talk about any issues that come up.

Most of the staff is great, but the faculty is owned by Karl Cross, who “maintains” the substandard condition, and has a very negative and intimidating influence on the staff. I removed my father after 2 months of them not addressing hygiene and safety issues in my dads room. Mr Cross then made false allegations to the local Sheriffs about me to try and cover his tracks, he is not to be trusted. Stay away!

I'm writing this review on behalf of my sister who spent 6 years at Dunedin Care Center (longest lasting patient) and passed away this March. It's not easy to run an Assisted Living Facility with so many patients who have the freedom to move about, especially during the pandemic. Dunedin Care did not have 1 patient come down with Covid, which tells you a lot. I can't express to everyone how caring and passionate the nursing staff were with my sister. I was fortunate to have chosen this center for the care of my sister, they exceeded my expectations! If you love your family member that requires Assisted living, this is the facility they need. It has the nursing staff, a great physical layout and daily activity that patients need to stay active. Have no fear when you place your loved one here!

I'm soooo pleased with the care and good vibes of the staff! We've spent hours near our mom because she got out of the hospital and we have observed how well they treat the elderly - with respect, care and sweeteness. Her room, bath & clothing are always clean. My mom used to cook amazing meals and she likes the food there which is a miracle. My sister is a doctor, the younger is a lawyer and I'm a professor. We're tough to please. We're thankful to Dona and their staff because they truly CARE.

I would like to State the wonderful care that my mother is receiving at lake Haven nursing and rehab under the new management I have seen tremendous change since the new takeover though I know it has been hard for all of them but I can honestly say that the transition has been phenomenal Christina and Stacy shout out to my dearest team members Christina SSD and Stacie BOM that has helped me through some of the most difficult times with my mother dealing with dementia they have treated me like family and have gotten me through the most difficult times I can't even imagine going through this without them the love and support that I have received from them is unmentionable you're admission Ellie administrator has truly climbed Mount Everest by taking over I can't be more pleased to write this on behalf of my mother's care I am deeply indebted and grateful for each and every member CNAs all of the staff doctors in the care that my mother has received under the most difficult time in my life

My family member received excellent care at Dunedin Care Center. The staff was fantastic. They were good to answer questions from the family. They were quick to let us know about any issues. They loved our family member. More than anything, our family member was safe.
