I work as an RN. I have had a particularly aggressive form of Dupuytren's disease with a resultant contracture for about 15 years now. Standard medical advice for years in the US has been to just wait till it gets bad enough for surgery, then do surgery. More recently Xiaflex injections and needle aponeurotomy have come out but little hope is held out due to a high recurrence rate. I was always curious as to whether shock wave therapy could help break up the scar tissue of Dupuytren's and it turns out it can. The National Institutes of Health has even come out in favor of treating Dupuytren's using it. There are things you can do to halt or reverse progression of Dupuytren's, and chiropractic can help. Of all of the offices providing EWST, Knoxville Spine and Sports was the only one which responded to my inquiry. Dr. Sharp was very knowledgeable about the condition and its treatment. After 4 weekly treatments I have approximately 1/3 less scar tissue in my hand, I have less pain, and improved use of the hand. This is about 15 years worth of scar tissue build up. I have read where other people have had even better results. Mine is a very aggressive case, I have the Ledderhose as well, but I am genuinely surprised at the progress I have made, and the excellent care given. And all of the staff is very kind and friendly. And the price is very reasonable as well. So if you have Dupuytren's, chiropractic can help. There is hope. You don't have to wait and do nothing till it is bad enough for surgery, and I can't think of a better place to get your care.

Before seeing Dr. Bert I was a skeptic. I originally came due to a pinched nerve that hindered all physical activity. After one visit I was a firm believer in chiropractics, as well as Dr. Bert’s #1 fan! He does not try to sell you on future visits, which I appreciate. He listens and will go at the pace in which you feel most comfortable. The office staff is extremely nice and helpful. They always get me in and out with a minimal wait time.
