Kern Valley Hospital

My husband had a severe asthma attack, and we live out of town. He's 78 and had bad lungs for 10 years. When we got to the emergency room, they took him right away. Within an hour, he was doing much better. Everyone there was nice. No complaints at all. Thank you to all the healthcare people. You're awesome.

I was taken via ambulance to the hospital with a bloody nose from hell. I was taken right in by a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Yes the nose packing was rough but it was needed. I had to go back for a follow up and again a great experience…This has been my third visit and each one has been a good experience… Thank you.

Registration, nurse, and Doctor I rate 5 stars. {The hospitals in Bakersfield could really learn from you, by learning empathy, patience, and understanding, and by being more family oriented.}

Mighty mighty staff. This is what I call true Health Care. Everyone was so kind, attentive and caring. Everything was super clean and ALL Nurses and doctors were so sweet and dedicated. They really rescued me from the worst heatstroke and I couldn’t be more grateful.

I had to go the ER for an embarrassing situation and I’m absolutely terrified of doctors and hospitals. The nurse assigned to me, Molly I think her name was, was so amazing….I can’t put it into words. In my entire life I have gone to the hospital less than 3 times because of my fear. But this nurse was so extremely helpful and compassionate and just … I can’t even describe. She was a saint. Listened to me and did not judge. Hugged me when I was full blown panicking and tried to talk the doctor into what I wanted but overall he would not budge. I understand my requests weren’t doable, but at least she tried. She should be given a raise, or a bonus, or something - she is an incredible angel that I needed so badly at the hospital. The other girl nurses were helpful but she was with me the longest and made me feel heard. I appreciate her soul.

I had the unfortunate need to visit their emergency room twice which both times resulted in multiple night stays in the hospital. The staff made it easy and comfortable. They are the best nurses I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Genuine and professional, knowledgeable beyond the norm. The facility could use updating but the staff is top notch. This community is very fortunate to have this facility available!

They caught something all the other doctors had missed, for months. Not good news but they have been professional, kind and communicative. They are in constantly checking and adjusting things and I think they saved my dad's life. The Dr. Martins and the nurse Daniel stood out but the whole staff was on top of their game. I am so thankful for them.

Absolutely appalling service! The witch doctor refused to give a very sore and sick 10 year old antibiotics!! I cannot understand the reasoning as to why help wasn’t given to this child..? If you don’t have covid you get no help now? To top it off the Receptionist had no idea the name of the Old Maiden Doctor, which seems very unprofessional as an employee! Dissatisfaction at it’s highest.. Be better, Do better “Kern Valley” - Period!!
