Dr. Carlos Manuel Solorsrzano was awesome!! He has a great Vision and Understanding of what my concerns were & a projected game plan to help carry it out. He's about his patients your not a number to him; in his eyes, you're very valued and treated as gold & royalty. He listens & takes his time with with proper time management for other patients waiting to be seen. Dr. Carlos is attentive to all details with intelligence and keen sharpness. He cares for the patient he doesn't fake it, he shows it, as being true to himself and to you w/ his practice of what he's been trained to do.

I went in to Kaiser Otay Mesa medical center for a job related injury and the front desk person was not trained to handle a job related paperwork and or guidance. She had to ask, and person she asked didn't seem to know either. Then the doctor that I saw told me with assurance that the front desk would assure me an appointment for a fallow up with my primary doctor. I told her that it is impossible. To get any appointment with Dr. Escobar in such a short notice, never! But she assured me again that she could make it happen. Well, not true. There is a need of better training and mutual communication.

First, the San Diego optometry appointment center called me in the morning on 7/16/2024 because I had left a message the previous evening asking for any no-show appointments this week for a glasses prescription update. I was thankful that they were able to give me an appointment at Otay Mesa. Getting to the reception desk was easy once I checked in on the app and scanned at the kiosk. At the reception desk, I was told to sit in the waiting area, and the wait was very brief. Dr. Tong did the exam, gave me a very detailed explanation of the changes in my prescription, and answered all of my questions. Upon returning to the reception desk, I intended to ask the receptionist to assist with booking my contacts exam appointment, when all of a sudden, Dr. Tong appeared at the desk and told the receptionist that he could see me now for my contact exam since he just learned his next appointment had been canceled. This saved me a week in time and tons of driving (since I already had booked the only appt available next week at West LA Kaiser) off of my plate and I'm tremendously grateful to have been able to do both appointments in the same visit. Dr. Tong went above and beyond for me! 100/10 visit.

Recently my brother was entrusted to the primary care of Dr. Michael Maine, for several troubling symptoms. What a stroke of good fortune this turned out to be! Having dealt with numerous doctors over the years, this new generation often seems to be driven by profits over patients. They have a stop watch in one hand and a charge card reader in the other. Dr. Maine is the polar opposite. When we had an initial family conference call with him, he listened to everything we had to say. Then set up consultations with a variety of outstanding specialists while ordering the relevant tests. Once all the data was in, Dr. Maine expertly put the puzzle pieces together to diagnose the problem — and (in an understandable to laypeople way) presented us with a realistic but hopeful plan for recovery. If Kaiser Permanente has a “Mount Rushmore For Physicians,” I nominate Dr. Maine for it! P.S. Kudos to PA Anne Burkel at an affiliated location for her valuable professional guidance. Also the many support staff members who greatly assisted us in making appointments, giving tips on how to take full advantage of Kaiser’s extensive capabilities, and offering much needed encouragement in these tough times. For overall care (including their life-saving efforts in the past when our family successfully battled Covid), I’d rate this hospital in the prestigious company of America’s finest!!

Praise for Daniel Lizarraga your Lab Tech. He draw my blood and didn’t feel anything! I usually get very nervous but Daniel makes me feel calm.

This morning I had my flu shot it was fast easy no pain the nurse was very nice

Department of Pain Medicine - Otay Mesa Specialty Center The entire staff, especially Diana and Adele were amazing. The positive energy you receive during the visit was well received. Every single human in this department truly cares about their patients. It may be an overstatement but it felt as if you are visiting family. Thank you Diana and Adele taking time to explain the process. Dr. Bui was amazing and addressed all of my questions and concerns without being rushed. Thank you, Salamat, Gracias!

My PCP, Dr. Maine, has excellent patient care...he is awesome! Firstly, I was late to my appt. (18 minutes after my appt time) due to traffic. I was told by the nurse that I would either have to reschedule, or have the option to wait til end of business day when Dr. Maine is available to see me and take care of ONE of the multiple concerns I had; I decided to wait. Dr. Maine saw me way before end of business day. He not only got to me pretty quickly, but he actively listened to ALL of my concerns (not just one concern), and either took care of it, or made a plan of action. I liked how he explained things so I could understand what was going on. He also did everything in his power to help me be able to get medication I really need, more affordable. I didn't feel like a "number;" Dr. Maine really listened and worked through my issues/concerns with me. I felt he was sincere and genuine with his words, and not rushing through the visit even though it was close to end of business day. We really need more providers like him. Thank you Dr. Maine!
