Firstly, after reading all 26 reviews in realizing the bulk of these are from years ago. I would say to anyone with questions about this facility to either focus on reviews from the last year or schedule a tour to view the facility yourself in person. Some of the observations made in these reviews are accurate from years ago but are not valid for today. Secondly, I would say that anyone who has never worked in long-term care your viewing things from a perspective of how you think things are supposed to work not how they always do. The truth of the matter is long-term care facilities in Louisiana are frequently in the same status as this facility. This is provable to any stretch of the imagination if you simply review the state websites for care in the state of Louisiana. Thirdly, the general overall care in this facility is high level the level of resident that is admitted here is a much higher acuity than your traditional nursing home would even look at as horrible as some people would like to believe it to be so. Every single Nursing home in this state has issues every single Nursing home in the state has good employees and bad employees. . Also consider the majority of low star reviews typically in a Google review are from people who are jaded or angry this is not to say that all reviews are faulty or inaccurate. You can schedule a tour of this facility to view it yourself at any time. You can at any time come meet the admission staff ask questions of the director of nursing the administrator and see the facility for yourself. Be kind and respectful and understand that what you may hate is someone else's happy home.

Staff is very flexible to residents and family members. Every place has problems, but we have a great team that is determined to identify these issues and correct them. I truly enjoy working here. I had my father admitted as a patient here and the nurse, Angel saved his life! She recognized his signs and sent him to the hospital even when he was against it... turns out he needed a triple bypass....

They never answer the phone when you call and it doesn’t matter whether or not your calling to speak with a residents or someone that is employed there but you will never get a hold of anyone maybe the operator but she’s just going to push whatever button she needs to do to get you to hang up. Also they stay in the bathrooms and it sounds like it’s more than one person in there and what some awful noises that are coming from those bathrooms and someone needs to pay more attention to what’s going on there.A certain employee was sitting in a residents room and she was up in his lap acting like he was santa claus or someone and i do believe it was the speech pathologist. Someone really needs to check this certain facility out for all this thats going on…

They are so lazy at this nursing home. My brother has been there since September, 2021 and we've only been able to speak with him twice. They claim the building he's in is too far to go get him to speak to. They answers the phone put you on hold and never pick up again. I call back and ask for someone that's in charge but no one is ever available. Can't leave a message because the mail box stays full. How are you suppose to check on your love one? They want a paycheck but don't want to work for it. Now I'm trying to have him transferred back to my home town but can't get anyone on the line to help me. I really would hate to just show up to see what's going on. I know the patients are being neglected because they can even take the time out to get patients to the phone because he's too far away from the phone.

Suddenly favorable reviews are being written after years of horrible ones. Higher ups have allegedly resigned recently, and I unsure why BUT it’s likely related to influx of new great jobs lol.This place does not answer the phone, nor return messages, nor bring residents the phone. Often it reeks of dirty diapers and nutritional supplements are often leaking on the floors. Feces and/or blood can be found on the walls at times as well. One staff per hall at times REGULARLY! Patients are dirty, hygiene is taken care of, and overall needs are not met. Many activities and services they claim to provide, they don’t. Wish I could put a zero star!Don’t dump your loved one here to die!

I'm wanting to see recent reviews not 1 or 2 years ago. Not just from employees but more importantly from families of residents. Has this place really improved?

Have been calling them since 930am. No one answered until almost 330pm. Nice person but she laughingly informed me that she didn’t know how to use the facility’s phone system and therefore could not transfer me to correct extension. Waited until 5pm and tried again. Got same person; same results. This is not first incident where person answering phone could not operate the system. I’ve been disconnected and left on hold for as much as ten minutes. Michael Kyle, the admission director, warned me that it was difficult to reach the facility because employees didn’t understand the phone system. I don’t “understand” why a nursing care facility staff can’t be trained to use a necessary communication system. If the system is inadequate, replace it; if it’s the employee, train them or replace them. It’s frustrating when you can’t even get Julia Hook, the Administrator’s voice mail box or the general voice mail to leave a message.

I was very leary about bringing my young son with a brain injury to recover at this facility, but I was very impressed from the very beginning. He was there for almost 4 months and we visited several times a week. He arrived with a trache and respiratory was completely amazing! Very caring and attentive! The nurses were wonderful in every way! He never ever had a dirty diaper on when we arrived. The CNAs (some of them) went beyond their duties to make him comfortable with special pillows to help support his head. The only thing that I was disappointed about was therapy. Let's just say, they completely failed. But all in all, I would highly recommend this place for rest, care, healing and recovery!
