I have been a patient at J & K for almost 15 years. I remember being so nervous for my first appointment. After a traumatic amputation I was so emotional and nervous with all of the new therapy and different specialist I was having to see. I kind of laugh at myself now and am so grateful for everything J & K has done for me. They always advocate for their patients and know how important it is for us to get back to some semblance of normalcy with all of the new challenges an amputee faces. I have been in my current prosthesis for almost 9 years. I am able to work full time and live an active life. My prosthesis and it’s perfect fit have never held me back. When I need liners, socks and sleeves, they are immediately responsive and work with my primary care and insurance to make sure I have everything I need. About 11 years ago I moved over 200 miles away and I deliberately keep my primary care Physician (she’s great too) and J& K because they are what every amputee needs in their life. To be able to be an active member of society and know my leg is going to take me there is what every amputee needs.
