I had an excellent experience at Ivy Rehab in Avon. The front desk staff are friendly, professional and know the clients by name. My Physical Therapist was Geoff Russell and he really helped me get back to full capacity and back to enjoying my life's interests- I could not be more grateful. He was patient, listened to my feedback and pushed me when I needed pushing! I strongly recommend Ivy's services.

I recently had knee replacement surgery. I had heard a lot of different stories from friends regarding the recovery process. Fortunately I went to Ivy and I had Geoff Russell lead me through the recovery process. Geoff is extremely knowledgeable and developed a plan that was specific to my goals and situation. It really could not have been any better. In just six weeks from the date of my knee replacement, I am playing golf again and doing my regular three mile walk. I had a great surgeon (Dr. Witmer) and Geoff took over from there. I would strongly recommend Geoff and together develop your goals for your recovery. Every day wasn't always easy, but every day I could see the improvement. Geoff is not only a great person for your PT, he is a great guy that has an empathetic understanding of your challenges. I never write reviews, but I think it is important to share my positive experience. You can do it.

Shoulder replacement recovery therapy. Very happy with the facility, the staff, the therapist (Liz) assigned to me and most of all, my wonderful outcome. I was never left waiting as through my recovery, all my appointments were always on time. Can’t say enough about Liz, very knowledgeable, very committed, very friendly and also very regimented. Liz’s expertise got me through a fairly tough recovery, in what seems to me to be ahead of my projected time frame and I am happy to say, four months after my surgery I am finally back in the gym, pretty much pain free and enjoying nearly full range of motion. Highly recommend Thank you Ivy Rehab of Avon, CT Big thank you to my therapist - Liz

The following narrative describes my journey from being a rehab patient with an inability to raise my right shoulder in any direction to a return to very close to normal function 12 weeks or so later. My family physician, Evan Schiff M.D., referred me to Ivy Rehab, with the assurances that they were really good at what they did. My experience from the onset with Liz Chew, PT, DPT underscored the accuracy of his statement. It was evident from my first visit that the staff at Ivy were welcoming and there to be helpful. My first experience with Liz involved an evaluation of my problem, much conversation regarding its onset, symptomology, and the direction that therapy would take. It began that day and I left with confidence that I was in the right place with the right person. Liz fostered open conversation, always communicating what she wanted to do and why, seeking buy in and understanding. She made sure that each session was filled with different stretches, always carefully observing me to insure they were done correctly. There were few wasted minutes. Even when involved with an additional client she remained observant. This carried over well to doing stretches at home. Although my recovery didn’t always follow a straight line course, it was evident through on-going assessment that my range of motion and strength were improving, and level of associated pain decreasing. Liz was a good cheerleader and a highly skilled therapist throughout. Should I ever need physical therapy in the future I know Liz would be my first call!

I’ve turned to the folks at Ivy Rehab twice now to heal muscle, tendon and nerve complaints. Each time they diagnosed exactly the cause of the problem (which had not been obvious to me) and designed a course of treatment with confidence and optimism. Each time the treatment has proven remarkably successful and has enabled me to resume a full regimen of exercise and normal activity pain free. They are fabulous!

I have been going to Ivy Rehab for 6 months now after a total reverse shoulder replacement, knee and back pain. The therapists are knowledgeable, experienced, and deliver spot on treatment for recovery, strengthening, and pain relief. I would not go anywhere else.

I recently completed a course of therapy at Ivy in Avon. My therapist was Liz Chew. I can’t speak highly enough of Liz. She’s incredibly knowledgeable about how to treat and heal the human body, and has a great persona which makes her sessions tough yet enjoyable. I never had much success with physical therapy in the past, but Liz turned me 100% around on that. If I ever need a physical therapist again I will absolutely go back to Liz.

was attended to by Glen Foreman at Ivy Rehab in Avon, CT for about 3 months. Three sessions a week. I had had cancerous lymph nodes removed from my left groin area and as a result of losing the lymph nodes, had developed Lymphedema. Glen is a certified specialist in Lymphatic massage, which was the treatment I needed to help alleviate the sweeping and the pain. HE WAS AMAZING!! Extremely knowledgeable (he has a million degrees including Doctor of Physical Therapy) and is studying for more. His deep understanding of my condition, how the body works and how to administer the best therapy (and give me my at home work to do as well) literally made the difference between my having this condition - painful Lymphedema - for life, or gradually subsiding. My therapy concluded once it was at the stage it would remain at (with continued at home care) which was 90% better than when I first walked into the Rehab center. Everyone at the center was welcoming and professional. Greeted you by name the minute you walked in the door. Much more personal than some of the other rehab centers I have gone to. All have been good, but these folks had more of a personal interest in my as a patient than I have experiences before. And when you are hurting - that extra care goes a long way. I am so glad Ivy moved into the Valley! I hope I don't need PT for anything for a while now, but should I need it, it would definitely be back to Ivy and Glen.
