Intermountain Health Utah Valley Sports Medicine - Provo

I recently had a very disappointing and unfortunate experience from Dr. Mortense staff I might can mention was a discriminatory issue. The receptionist I interacted with had major communication issues which made the entire process frustrating and unprofessional. What should have been a simple phone call turned into a stressful experience. Clear and intentional communication is essential in any professional setting, but it is especially critical in a medical setting where patients already have to deal with enough stress, and on top of that, I asked that my mother needed someone who spoke Spanish, to which the receptionist never mentioned that she spoke Spanish, making it difficult for me to connect my mother on the call. It is evident that the Spanish-speaking staff is not educated enough to politely resolve cultural issues when communicating.On top of that, I asked to speak to the office manager, and after having been talking to her about the problem I have never heard a “I’m sorry that you were made to feel uncomfortable.” She constantly excuses the receptionist’s behavior which made the situation sadder and more disappointing .

I've had two surgeries here for my acl. I've had some of the most awesome nurses and surgeons. Dr. Allred, Dr.Christianson and Dr.Murri have all taken the time to check in on me often and let me know exactly what's happening. The surgeries have gone amazing and I'm blessed to say they are helping me heal. Some of the nurses I remember, Brooke, Meghan, Shayne and plenty of others who took care of me, made me comfortable and even had a couple laughs with me. I just want to say thank you for making something scary like surgery, an easy and honestly fun experience. You guys are the best! Thank you for helping in the process of fixing me!!!

Dr Beutler and his colleagues were excellent! Thorough, thoughtful and kind. Hopefully I am on the mend with the exercises and things they have recommended :)

Dr Campbell saw me and didn’t really listen to me - he clearly was convinced that he knew what was wrong before he walked in the room. I tried asking clarifying questions and he interrupted me several times and even raised his voice at me. Really made me upset.

Dr Campbell was very knowledgeable, but was very rushed. I didn’t feel like he cared very much about me and he started a timer when he walked in the room, stayed with me for 3 minutes and left. Intermountain was supposed to follow up with me but never did and when i called them to ask about it the lady was very short on the phone and hung up on me before i could ask further questions. Overall bad experience

Would give zero stars of if I could. After leaving the emergency room I was referred to this clinic. I called to make an appointment and they made it very clear that at most I would be seen for one appointment and referred out. I have a sports-related injury and need to see a sports medicine physician. They made it apparent that this is not the sports medicine clinic for me so I have found a different office to go to.

Dr. Campbell was great. He listened to my concerns and was very helpful in helping me out with my questions and health.
