Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula

After suffering an almost life ending coma with liver and kidney failure and whatever else was being thrown at me, I spent 3 weeks in the IRU. I always tell them they saved my life. I had to relearn to walk, climb stairs, my memory and my ability to clearly communicate was shot. I made incredible progress thanks to my Therapists, Nurses, everyone involved. I have told everyone I tell about my journey that the IRU was a blessing. I regained my strength and qualified to be on the Liver Transplant List. Thankfully today I also owe my life to my donor. It has been a rough year and a half, but I am so grateful to everyone involved. I highly recommend every single person involved with therapy, care and treatment at the IRU.

Everyone at IRU is a blessing from god. I honestly feel that they gave me my life back and helped give me the strenth both mentally and physically to move foward. I took advantage of every single second i was in there because i noticed everyone is working hard to try to get you where your supposed to be. A special thanks to all the doctors nurses and therapist in that unit you guys make a big diffrence in the world..

The nurses therapist and doctors at the IRU gave me my life back..It has been a year since my bilateral hip replacement and im back on my feet living my life to the fullest..God is great and so is the IRU...

Everyone is so nice and so helpful . My mother made excellent progress the short time she was there . Thank you to all the staff for taking good care of my mom and providing her with the best patient care .

Dr. Davis and his entire staff at IRU, CHOMPS are a Godsend to those who find themselves on their floor, in their unit and in their caring hands.
