ICPR Family Practice

Our family of 8 has been going here for a few years now. My husband sees Cody regularly for continuing health conditions, and really likes him. As do my older boys. The rest of us are healthy and rarely, if ever, sick. Today I called because my teenage son who has asthma has been dealing with chest congestion for the past couple of days, and today he started breaking out in a rash/small hives. The receptionist was going to get us in tomorrow morning but noticed he was due for a yearly. She said because of that, the earliest she can get him in is next week. Again, he’s breaking out in an unexpected rash and has chest congestion on top of asthma. I didn’t expect them to get us in immediately, but a week with no concern for his current condition‽ We follow all recommended preventative care, but when we need sick care this is how we are treated. Thankful for urgent care, I guess. This wasn't our first questionably experience, honestly. One of the nurses was nervous giving my completely calm child a shot, and the needle slipped as she was sticking him giving him an a one inch scratch on his arm. When she went back to stick him he told her where to poke it and she did perfectly. He was 5 at the time 😆 My other child should have been referred out to an ENT, but they sent us home on two occasions for me to “fix” the impacted ear myself. Aside from those experiences, we’ve liked going here since it’s conveniently located. Unfortunately after today I’m not sure convenience is so important.

If you are looking for a group of physicians who truly care about their patients, look no further. I became a patient in 2019-2020 (?) and saw Shawna Bivens every visit. I cannot say enough good things about her. She is a nurse practitioner who remembers her patients, stays up-to-date on patient’s requests/orders, takes patient input into account before making medical decisions, and has a bedside manner that is approachable and trustworthy. I am moving out of state temporarily and will miss Shawna’s care. When she makes a decision, you know as her patient why the decision has been made. She covers all bases. She asks for patient input while forming plan of care. I could not recommend her enough. I also saw Dr. Sumer for one of my appointments as a post-hospital discharge follow up. At the time, there were a lot of unanswered questions and concerns with my health. Dr. Sumer put in orders that other doctors refused to do and, too, covered all of his bases. The sweetest, most approachable physician I have ever met. If you want to feel like you are in GOOD hands, consider this office and their physicians. They not only are good physicians, but they are great human beings. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to thank them for easing my mind during the uncertain and exhausting all avenues that they could think of to get us on a path of finding the root cause of my issues.

I just love provider Cody Beer. I have been his patient for the past couple of years and he has taken care of multiple issues during that time. He is thorough in testing, diagnosing, and treating every medical problem. He is so smart, attentive and kind. I am so grateful for him.

I see Cody Beer as my provider. He's awesome. When you call the phone number, you're talking to the actual office, unlike OSF that puts you on hold for an hour at a call center. I dropped OSF & have never looked back.

Called three times to make a very short appointment, first I got blindly transferred to an answering machine because there were no "providers" in the office that week. Never got a call back, called again two days later and got told I'd get a call back by Beth. I never got a call back. I called in again the next day and got the blind transfer to voicemail treatment again. The staff's customer service skills have tanked since I've last been. Don't expect an easy time getting an appointment scheduled.

Can’t say enough good about this doctor and staff. We moved here about 1& months ago and it’s been years since a doctor actually returned a call after hours. Kudos for actually caring about your patients!

Dr Sumer and the entire ICPR staff were amazing! Everyone was very friendly and I felt like they cared about me and my health. I would absolutely recommend!

Can't say enough good things about this office!! Everyone is wonderful. I'm currently being seen by NP Katie; but, every care provider has been incredible.
