In July 2024, I admitted my mother to Huntington Park Nursing Home. From the outset, I observed several concerning issues but chose to remain optimistic and give them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, as time passed, my concerns persisted despite repeatedly voicing them. Although the staff responded to my complaints, they seemed displeased with my persistence. The facility's condition is troubling; it is unclean and poorly maintained. It is perplexing how it maintains a favorable rating from the Department of Health. The staff frequently neglects residents' needs; during visits with my mother, I often found myself assisting other residents due to caregivers' lack of attention. The food quality is subpar and lacks variety—my mother lost ten pounds in one month because she disliked their meals. Despite notifying them about her dietary preferences, they failed to address this issue adequately. Moreover, they would leave meals on her overbed table despite her inability to feed herself independently—a clear oversight in care provision for someone with limited mobility. It was disheartening to witness elderly individuals requiring compassion and empathy being neglected. During walks down the hallways, numerous call lights are often illuminated while staff members engage in personal conversations rather than attending promptly to resident needs—a situation I documented through photographs. I formally arranged for a weekend outing with my mother, ensuring to secure a 24-hour pass from the facility as required. However, upon requesting her medication, I was informed abruptly that she had been granted permission without medication. This decision is perplexing and concerning, given that my 94-year-old mother has diabetes and a heart condition. It is difficult to comprehend how such an oversight could occur under their protocol. The final incident prompting immediate action occurred when my mother was left unattended in bed all day without assistance after experiencing distress over a neighbor's passing—an event that led me swiftly arrange for her discharge within 24 hours. Upon arriving at Huntington Park Nursing Home for the discharge procedures, I encountered a lack of transparency in the signature process. When inquiring about the documents requiring signatures, the nurse indicated that they pertained solely to discharge matters, including medications, inventory, and copies of documents regarding my mother's wishes not to be resuscitated in case of an emergency. To my astonishment, among these was a document there was one stating that the reason for discharge was "the progress my mother had made at the facility," which is entirely inaccurate. In reality, my mother's condition has deteriorated; she has lost weight and frequently expresses distress and pleads for me to remove her from the facility. I will be filing a complaint with the department of health and appealing to this document as it is not true. Please don’t let this happen to your love one.

My father was here after a hospital stay. He’s been hospitalized and sent to different skilled nursing centers before. He was the best he’s ever been after staying at the HP Skilled Nursing Center. The therapists, caregivers, students, etc made him feel right at home. I’m confident that if he were need to go back to a nursing center, there’s a place he can call home.

My father was hospitalized and I was worried he couldn’t return home. Huntington park nursing center was recommended by the hospital and he was there for 2 months. He did therapy daily and now he’s back home stronger and with his grandkids. Thank you to the nurses, therapists and administration for doing a fantastic job. This nursing home was closer to my mom’s house. everyone was attentive. They care to your needs and language. The doctor and even the therapists speak Spanish. Glad we found it.

Super clean, super friendly, super knowledgeable. What more can you ask for? Director of Rehab, Jonathan is the man! He knew exactly where to place us, took the time and answered all of our questions and went as far as showing us what was wrong. Left my great aunt here in the care of HPNC and couldnt feel any more reassured thanks to Jonathan and his amazing crew!!

Huntington Park Nursing Center is a great nursing home that provides exceptional skilled nursing care including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. They have a number of experienced long term staff that are vested in providing only the best quality care to all their patients. It is located across the street from Huntington Park City Hall and easily accessible from three major freeways in the area. There is a large parking lot and street parking available in the rear of the facility off Templeton Street which is also the main entrance. The Admissions department is available to answer any questions you might have or to schedule a tour of the facility.
