My husband has Parkinson’s dementia. Someone in Santa Barbara suggested we go to Human Performance Center. It was the most horrible experience I , his wife, and my husband have ever had. We are in our 80s and I know the manager and owner do not know how to work with patients with Parkinson’s /dementia. They are Not kind , not patient, not efficient.but they know how to be extremely rude. No one at facility for my husbands appointment at 8:00 am. Did not arrive until 8:20. Very sad that this is happening in Santa Barbara.

My previous Dr. Used to send me there once a year for my upper back. At least 7-10 visits. All therapists look very professional. I say this because I have only seen two in all my visits! Steve is awesome! I don’t need to tell him what’s going on with my body, he already knows my back problems and gets to work on it quickly! Love the service of everyone there.

Not particularly impressed. First session was productive, inventorying my needs and weak points...severe back issues, residual muscular damage from hip operation...second session I was assigned to a PT I didn t feel comfortable with or trust. Given only 20 minutes of actual physical workout...simple strengthening exercises I already do. The second PT wasn t as prepared as I would ve liked so we wasted 10 minutes right away. She claimed Medicare only allows 20 to 30 mins. Used treadmill for 4 of them. If you don t click with the PT, go elsewhere. Cancelled future appts.

Waiting area was unsafe. Crowded with waiting patients and in conflict with treatment equipment. Carpet was so dirty shoes were sticking making walking difficult. Fell when shoes would not release from carpet resulting in a fall. Fractured right ankle and left knee. No assistance from staff. Forced to drive home with fractures in both legs. They did suggest I see my doctor and request a referral to their facility for physical therapy. Terrible experience! My Godparents stopped using that facility due to their negligence and my Godfather is an M. D. Buyer beware.

My husband has received the best physical therapy for fall risk from this center and he particularly wants to commend Diane Voyer for her caring and expert treatment. He has received therapy from different therapy groups and finds Human Performance Center's staff the best. Another thing that makes him feel his time has been worthwhile is that the therapist stays with him as he goes through the exercises and routines. Other groups put you on a machine and walk away to attend other patients. There is no way those therapists who walk away can make an accurate assessment of a patient's needs. I give 5 stars to Diane Voyer!

Is it too dramatic to say that one physical therapy appointment can change your life? As corny as it sounds that is what happened with my session with Robert Huhn at the Human Performance Center. I have been to countless doctors over many years, but it was Mr. Huhn's vivid compassion that got me to finally see that my physical symptoms were related to Post Traumatic Stress. He recommended the beautiful book - "Into the Magic Shop" by James R. Doty, MD. It was this one encounter that persuaded me to seek appropriate therapy for trauma and I have since found someone I really like working with. So yes, I recommend Robert Huhn.

I am not personally a client, but I've attended a few physical therapy sessions with a friend. Nice facilities, but the staff I even better. They accept most insurance (my friend is on Medicare), and his therapist says as long as he shows improvement they will authorize more visits. Everyone I've met there has been nice- yet Corrinne is especially awesome 😎
