Please be sure to research the facility before sending your loved one, and make a site visit beforehand. I was crunched for time and mistakenly didn't do so, needless to say, had to pull my grandmother out of there after 48 hours. This facility is very dated, dirty, and fruit fly's all over. The food they serve I wouldn't give it to my dog! The evening staff is from an agency and could care less about the patient! They were rude, careless, and rough!!

I can’t say enough about the quality of care at this facility. For over four years our Mom was a resident and had great care here. People are the organization and this place has excellent people who really care about their residents. The staff here works exceptionally well as a team and I think that is because of their long tenure. You will find very low staff turnover here which contributes to the continuity of care as well establishing healthy relationships with their residents. You will find that many of the staff have been here over 20 years. You will be hard pressed to find another facility that can match that. While the physical presence of the facility may not lead you to believe that this is a top notch facility - it is. Again, the people are what makes this a great facility. Knowing that Mom was in good care when we were not there really helped our family be at peace. I can’t say enough about this team, especially those working in the southwest wing! Thank you to team Hughes for taking such wonderful care of Mom over that last four plus years. May the good Lord continue to watch over you, your families and those that you continue to care for each day.

If I could give this place, zero stars I would. I brought my mother to be admitted into Hughes and no one met us outside. I had to find my own wheelchair from inside the building bring it outside and bring my mother in. I should’ve realized then that This was the wrong place. Once inside, I was alarmed at how filthy it was. After five minutes, I wheeled my mother out with no help from any of the staff and left.

The staff at Hughes are so great! My mom has had excellent care while there. I am also impressed at how clean the facility is & no foul or pungent odors at, anywhere. Staff is very attentive & so amazing!!!

Visited my aunt there today. I live In AZ so this is the first Time Ive seen her since she moved there. It was a cozy and warm atmosphere . The staff was very friendly and caring. I last saw my aunt 3 years ago at my mothers funeral and although her dementia has progressed , she physically looked better than she did then. She was happy to show us around and was quite adept with her walker.

Do not send your loved one here. The facility is old and out dated. Cleanliness is not a priority. The equipment, like wheel chairs, are falling apart. Your loved one will be forgotten if you do not stay on top of Hughes. Multiple times, they forgot to take my mother in law to the bathroom in the morning! Would give negative stars if it was possible.

I agree with some of the reviews on cleanliness and the place being very old. However the staff here from the administration to the nurses to the physical and occupational therapist are excellent. Yes like everywhere there were some lazy aides and nurses that could definitely use more training in patient care for certain illnesses but overall I would recommend Hughes to anyone. The care they gave to my mother who can be hard to deal with at times was beyond exceptional. Even administrators would come in and assist in task if need be. The improvements that my mother made at Hughes do to the help and encouragement by the staff especially the physical therapist was impeccable. Seti,Nermala,Shannon,Tania,Gary,Tiana,Amy & Clyde all deserve raises and promotions. I couldn’t thank you all enough for everything. God bless you all!

After calling for help, my family member waited more than 15 minutes to have help using the bathroom, when the nurse finally came in she was upset that my family member had soiled her clothing that she told my family member that she hates her job and wants to quit and would call out sick the fallowing day(causing my fm to feel extremely embarrassed). I personally pushed the call button the next day and a PC came in 8 minutes later only because she noticed me in the hallway looking at the time, timing them . The hallways smell bad and patients were vomiting, raising alarm of a stomach bug.
