My daughter is 7, she started therapy (OT, PT, ST) at Hippos & Fish around the end of February 2024. Upon her evaluations, I noticed how caring and passionate the staff is and how eager they are to be apart of our kids lives and celebrate their victories with us. She started hippotherapy in June 2024 and after just one session she took her first independent steps!! She now confidently walks around the therapy clinic and has built up so much endurance and strength. She knows Sugar Baby is her horse and I coax her out of bed occasionally by reminding her she gets to ride that day! Ha. I also see growth in her receptiveness and how quickly she grasps things now, and can see physical growth in her legs and hips. She even used the potty for the first time at Hippos & Fish!!! They are truly a blessing to our family and I am so thankful we found them.

My son loved working with his therapist throughout the summer, and we would love for him to be able to continue working with her. Unfortunately, they don’t have the staffing or space needed to maintain client needs during the school year. We are looking elsewhere as we cannot have a full school year delay in his needed therapy (after the initial 6 month delay until summer after they performed his evaluation). If you are new to Hippos and Fish, maybe consider looking elsewhere to begin with.

My son LOVES Hippos & Fish! Their team of therapists took the time to learn about his uncommon diagnosis and how to best approach things with him. This was a HUGE game changer for our family because the two very popular central Arkansas pediatric therapy centers he attended previously did not make any sort of effort to learn about his condition or better accommodate him during therapy sessions. I now learn more about his diagnosis symptoms and how to best approach those from his therapy team on a regular basis - which is SO amazing, because in the past at other therapy centers I was constantly being asked why he was displaying certain behaviors during their therapy sessions. I really love the connection we have with each of our son’s therapists and being a part of the hippos and fish family.

I have two children both with multiple disabilities, who receive multiple therapies from Hippos and Fish. Since starting at Hippos and Fish a little over a year ago, my son has made dramatic improvements in several areas. Not only is he MUCH more verbal, he is now thriving both in school and in several activities outside of school without meltdowns or behavioral issues. With his less common diagnosis, Hippos and Fish took the time to learn about his condition and the best ways to accommodate him. It is SO nice to send my child to a therapy center where I’m actually learning more from the therapy team about how to better understand and accommodate my son’s needs, instead of being asked at pickup why he is displaying a certain behavior; which commonly happened at past therapy centers he had attended. The difference we have seen is so dramatic that my son’s psychiatrist made a note of where he was receiving outpatient therapies, I believe with the intention to recommend Hippos and Fish to other families within our community. Similarly, my youngest child also with multiple diagnoses was VERY misunderstood at her previous developmental preschools. The very popular central AR therapy centers and developmental preschools that my daughter attended in the past had never heard of one of her diagnoses, and unfortunately did not have the interest in learning more about it and perhaps how to better accommodate her. They instead just let her be. She became so dysregulated in that environment that she began to participate in both therapy and classroom activities less and less. Since moving her to Hippos and Fish, I have seen a complete 360 in my child. The therapy team at Hippos and Fish took the time to pinpoint and accommodate each of my child’s sensory needs within their environment and also suggested additional accommodations within our home environment. Because of this, my child is now no longer in burn out, is much more verbal, and is actively gaining new skills and knowledge daily. I feel that her dramatic improvements in several areas are solely thanks to our Hippos and Fish family and all that they have taken the time to do for her. The therapy team at Hippos and Fish took the time to do what several other therapy centers failed to do for my daughter. With all of the progress my daughter has made in such a short period of time, she will definitely be much more ready for Kindergarten next year than she would of been had I left her at either of the developmental preschools she attended prior. Our family is so grateful to be a part of the Hippos and Fish family! We love all of our benevolent therapists and we can’t thank them enough for all that they do for their clients and their families.

My daughter and I love this place! All the therapists are patient, caring, helpful, thorough and kind! My daughter has been getting speech therapy for almost a year and the amount of words spilling out of her at all hours of the day is amazing! She was always a spunky gal but after coming here twice a week she’s shown so much improvement and her personality has blossomed! They truly treat your child as if they were theirs! The support I get from the therapists is incredible. They provide recommendations on developmental techniques that can improve my daughter’s growth. The only bummer is that they don’t go to her daycare, but we make the trip twice a week just to hear her sing songs in the back of the car or talk her self to sleep! Hippos and Fish is therapy I would recommend to anyone who is in need!

Both my boys have been attending for a few years and love it. There is definitely a family feel to the atmosphere instead of a clinical feel. So much community is built between the different clients. I love that my boys are able to interact with the other kiddos and participate in group activities. It provides more than just the therapy they need.

Everyone has been really great, from scheduling, intake paperwork and the actual therapy. My son has really shown a lot of advancement in swimming since starting the swimming therapy.
